Wow. Fantastic read. My dad worked out at Nellis running the RFMDS system to track aircraft on the range and was amazed that a lot of the aggressor pilots he knew would run up to Tonapah to fly Migs. Every now and then they'd have to track "Funny F-5s" during their documented training runs.
This book really makes out the Mig-23 to be a death trap, or at least a beast that you had to tame or it would kill you.
The picture of the Volkswagon painted to look like an F-5 aggressor complete with demilled 20mm gun barrels is priceless.
