OK, I've been an nVidia user for a good long while, and I'm wondering what they are thinking.

There is AMD with ATi, but Intel Chipset boards are designed more for X-Fire. nVidia has made threats against Intel, they make their own chipsets that are not performing as well as the Intel chipsets. They could be owning the world if they got with the program and worked with Intel and got full SLI working on these Intel chipsets.

In other words, they have PO'd God (Intel), and they are competing against themselves.

What in the world are they thinking?!?

Discussion please...

Someone has to keep "god" in check. It wouldn't be a competing market if they weren't playing against eachother. I much prefer the competition rather than stagnation. Collaboration often only leads to cashing in, not innovation.

Funky

+1 couldn't have been said better... rep

But I think the point Tboy's trying to make is that they're somewhat shooting themselves in the leg... It seems to me kind of that way too. I don't know, could be a part of their strategy. I personally like nVidia GPUs better..

They're shooting us too. Can you imagine what kind of performance we could get with SLi on these new rigs.

I'll be going with a GTX280 towards the end of the year, but it would be nice to have the option of adding another down the road.

With the new Nehalem CPU's coming out I hate to think what 2x or 3x GTX280's would be like. Right now they are CPU limited because of the low OC's you have to run with the nVidia chipsets.

Imagine what an X58 and a new Bloomfield would do with just two of those new GTX280's!

Collaboration isn't always good no, but with the right brains behind the companies it can be. Intel has big money and puts big money into R&D, and they are putting out the performance. Why nVidia would want to hold their cards back just doesn't make sense.

New info. nVidia has now came to an agreement with "God" and has listened to the users. They will now reap the benefits of a great decision. See thread in this forum.

Heck, maybe they saw this thread and decided not to be kept in "check" anymore. I know there are alot of threads like it across the Internet. Who knows? Maybe this was the one! Wouldn't that be cool? :thumb:
