Nope. Have not seen before.
But take a look at this picture found on their site:

^ Does it look great?
This can be done better.

Or is that might the screenshot when using low-end-pc? .
Cause this looks bombastic:

^ High-end-pc?

Yep, if it looks like this second picture then it's worth. Just look at the level of details in the picture.

Don't know about the first one ... :nono:

That's the problem with photo based terrain, the 2nd pic is just zoomed in on the building models, which are of decent quality, but the terrain being photo based, just isn't going to look good at low level and is probably going to be a disk space hog to boot.

Talking about disk space hog's.... check out Debries from .theProdukkt (http://www.theprodukkt.com/debris). It takes all in all ~177Kb of your hard drive, and I think the demo runs around 7 minutes WITH sound. It was released around easter 2007 even though I thought it was older.

It takes some time to load since all textures are computed at startup of the demo. Also, Im not sure if it will run on all kinds of gfx-cards. If you want to check more of theire technology or even try some of it out yourselfe (that is, create textures for fun and shame) then try werkkzeug1 (http://www.theprodukkt.com/werkkzeug1) or werkkzeug 3 te (http://www.theprodukkt.com/werkkzeug_3_te) (dedicated site (http://www.werkkzeug.com/)).

And.... even though you dont like the demo, you cant really blame me for wasting you bandwidht on this one. The D/L is under 200Kb :rofl

I think that for the intended customers (military) disk space won't be an issue. Besides, soon we'll all have petabyte drives.

As far as the low level quality I did see that the resolution varies from 26m to .5m. With the half meter photos overlayed with 3D objects in strategic places I believe the effect would be very convincing. Granted modelling individual buildings is beyond the scope of a $60 sim, hopefully the databases and files will be available to us in the future.
