F/A-18 Carrier Ops (short vid)

I put together this short video from X-Plane 9 (beta 6) of a user created F/A-18 doing landings on the carrier. Though I know that Fighter Ops is using a rewrite (or something) of the X-Plane code..I sure hope that this kind of fidelity is part of the final product. Even though X-Plane doesn't do everything perfectly..it has a really fluid, lifelike feel to it. I love the ground handling and the way the struts compress and bounce around. To have a combat flight sim that has this kind of modeling (the Su-25T in Flaming Cliffs is actually in that category)..would be really nice.

On another note... is it just me, or do you guys notice a how a lot of wester music especially hip-hop and rap are starting to sound middle eastern?

Yeah..it definitely has a middle-eastern flair to it. The song (Galvanize) is actually a "techno" song by The Chemical Brothers released a few years ago...

And now Budweiser uses it (yeck) in their commercials...:doh:

They do some things really nicely and the V9 beta looks like it is going to be a nice step up in the graphics department. I'm sure FO will take all that physics into consideration, right guys? Dazzle us with the little details that only flight fanatics will notice, but that make all the difference in the world.

You gotta try out redcoopers T-45. He's is/was a SNA(last time i heard from him was before he attended SERE school) and tweaked the values so that you have a pretty realistic wheel bouncing effect when you hit the deck...

Well I'm only 20, and just haven't bothered. In 4 months or so though, I'll have the answer for you :evils:.

You should definitely come up here sometime. We got our fleet of G1000 172s last summer and getting our Twin-stars this summer. Every thing's getting better... the girl population is slowly increasing too. This year we have 30% freshman girls... eh, they're not so hot, but we're slowly getting there :bigsmile:. I've tried to avoid "ridlization" when it comes to girls tho...
I'm also living in "The Village" which was not there when you were here. Nicer rooms with kitchen a nice shower and stuff in the every room. You poor guys probably had to stay in Mingus, which is still there for freshmen :tongue:.
Anyways, finals are on and I'm gonna have to get back to studying.

I was one of the lucky few that managed to have a girlfriend there at Riddle. And she was quite pretty...I felt very lucky. Some of my roommates hooked up with some of the "Have-A-Pie" girls (Yavapai College)...funny stuff..
