Ok...Stang I'm trying to contact You on the e-mail addresses but no chance....
I'm writing now on this official forum hoping to get in touch with You asap.
Please, answer this message.
I'm Alex from Italy and I bought with Pierluigi in September 2007, winning an official ebay auction, the following items:
- center pedestal kit;
- hud kit;
- front panel kit;
- ACES 2.
Tried to get in touch with You also by PM.
Please give us an update about the status of these orders made 8 months ago, and soon payed by paypal on your account.
We need Your marvellous kits to carry out our projects.

http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n111/firefox_014/Home%20Cockpit/000_0024.jpg

And I would to have Your kits mounted in my sim, instead of "paper", as You see for the center consolle in this multi projection test, thanks again....

Thanks, guys.
I posted these 2 pics only to get in contact with Stang for the kits acquired last year but never arrived, and to show him that really we need to continue with this project.
However, I have right now, 3 Infocus IN26 XGA for the scenery.
Another sharp XGA for the retroprojection of all the gauges for the central
panel....

http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n111/firefox_014/Home%20Cockpit/000_0003.jpg

and a HP svga for the retroprojection of the right aft consolle...

http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n111/firefox_014/Home%20Cockpit/000_0034.jpg

All these pics are tests made months ago....
Obviously...I'll have functional MFDs, in both Falcon and MFS...

more pics here:
http://www.viaf.it/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=5504&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=135

VIAF is the Virtual Italian Air Force.....and I'm honored to be in this fantastic group of dreamers....
Fell free to have a look to my project, You will see, it's only an hobby for me and it is only a low end reproduction of the Viper, made using very poor material and elementary human building skills.

I'm waiting the Stang's stuff to finalize and develop the final set up.... and take some pics of the all 5 projectors working ...:sad:
...and I don't want to post my pics in this section dedicated to TJ' stuff!!!
However, I hope to have some answer here, regarding my orders and if someone of You guys, is in a "positive" radio contact with TJ, please help me to solve this small problem.
Thanks again.

Ciao

Holy *****n ***t.
That triple projector setup looks very very nice.

I'm thinking.....I have to get the same :).
What kind of graphics card are you using for that triple
display, how do you (If you do) split the signal, firefox?

The hardware set up is obtained by 2 pc networked.
In the server I have an SLI configuration with the SLI function disabled.
In this way I have 2 video cards on the same motherboard and a total of 4 monitors output.
From this 4 outputs I derive the central POV of the scenery, and the 2 retroprojections for the 2 gauges groups....(1 output free)
The second PC is equipped with a normal video card (having 2 outputs available).
On this second pc I also have an integrated video card (so 3 outputs total).
This second pc (client) serves the right and left scenery POVs (so another output unused).
The videocards are the good ASUS EN7600 silent, 512 MB each.
An old technology, but good enough to start.
This set up is for the Microsoft FS9.
And the client and server scenery povs, are sinchronized using wideview.
http://www.wideview.it/

For Falcon...I have different options.
The simplest is to run everything on the server:
one output for the scenery, the second and third for falcon gauges exporting the instruments onto the 2 retroprojectors.
If I need more performance, I can use Falcon Gauges on the previous client, aiming to the max FPS on the server.
Everything is in a test phase......
Hope it helps.
Stang...where are You??

Wow, most excellent 3 projector setup. I might borrow a lot of ideas from your setup. I don't understand any of the language on that link but the pictures speak a lot. What type of screen material are you using to back project into the instrument panel? That's a pretty innovative idea, because in many cases simpit instruments are staggered in such a way to make using LCDs imposable and still retain accurate true to real spacing. :)

I have a bunch of surplus projectors, so your idea is appealing to me.

Any way you could start a new thread about your experience with 3-projector setup at http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=114 ? I'm sure those who only read English will greatly appreciate it. :)

The screen material used to back project into the instrument panel is a cheap semi trasparent plastic taken from a notebook...
The idea is very innovative bacause:
- if You want You can add real gauges or simulated...time after time;
- no need to modify the structure of the cockpit to accomodate lcds;
- maybe the cheaper solution...(referring to the gauges rappresentation);
- great flexibility since I can use this set up with every simulator with "gauges extraction"....
When I'll have time I'll maybe open a dedicated post on that link.
I posted here only to report my need to contact Stang and to have here in Italy my kits acquired last year.
Please Stang answer and contact us poor Italian builders...

What is the deal with Stang? I have two close friends waiting on their pits since last year (!) and neither seem to be able to get in touch with him through any means anymore...

I can't speak for myself, nor do I want to trash-talk Stang here, but his rep around the community is plummeting fast from what I'm hearing, especially since my friends (and others from what I understand) have already paid him money and now feel like they got scammed while he won't return calls, emails etc. AFAIK some of them have even reported fraud...

...yet at the same time, I know of a few people who have gotten their kits too (although some admit having to pull their hair out in the process).

Isn't Stang part of XSI?

I can definitely see how it would be more cost effective. Simulated hardware gauges are downright expensive, as is getting multiple 4 to 6" LCDs to populate the simpit. Used projectors on eBay aren't that expensive in comparison and would be much more configurable IMHO. Not to deviate from the main topic, but I had to ask about your setup.

I PMed Stang awhile back myself about an ACES II kit but he's ignored the PM. No idea what his situation is atm.

This message is for rjetster.
Tried to answer by PM but it is said that it is not possible because of the amount of pms stored in Your boxmail.

Hallo:
first: Thanks for the cockpit, but it is only at the "start and test phase";
second: I'm very sorry if I used this marvellous forum for " a personal use": it was the only way to estabilish a communication channel with Stang, since he recently wrote on this forum...
third: I miss an Aces 2 , and the entire central part of the sim: center pedestal, frontal panel, HUD and ICP kits...
The amount was something like 400-500 $, I should check again....but money, well, they are not the most important aspect of the situation...
The real problem is that we would like only to have an "Yes" or "sorry,no".... in other words a good communication.
I'm an air traffic controller in my real life and I have the sane habit of giving an acknoledge about everything....
Sorry for the bad english but ....can You imagine???
Here in Italy so far from You, on the other side of the world,we litterally have to struggle with:
the different language You speak...it's a big deal!!
try to understand every news regarding the cockpit construction,interfacing, software develping ....
wait weeks or months for a box shipped by airmail...
try to assemble electronics basing on uncertain ideas or posts on some forum around....
If we however invest money and, more important, time :sad: to make a dream real :red: ....we would like to have the pleasure to communicate with people like Stang....
However if anyone knows what's going on with him...
please let us know...our projects has to be continued...
and obviously one day totally interfaced with the Fighter ops simulation software :smile:
