Who will be purchasing this game and what is your Xbox ID so I can add you to my friends list?

My ID is Rabid Planton

Don't have an X360 yet, but I'm getting it and Xbox Live almost entirely for this game... and anything else I may happen to find.

While I think there will be a lot of fun to be had with this game, I don't know if I can convince my wife to let me spend $150 on it. I'm also a big fan of multiple monitors or at least head tracking. Maybe if I can get my TrackIR working with the cockpit view, it might make it worth it to make the experience more believable (excluding the fact that you can have 99 missiles :rofl ). Plus, with a little extra effort, I could probably get the rest of my joystick fully functional with it. Then I wouldn't need their new one at all.

If there are enough configuration options and it can be played with Over G also, then I might get it so I don't have to keep switching back and forth when I want to play on my PC.

This is not a Sim folks. Don't get your hopes up and it's hardly worth getting a HOTAS soley for one game.
The visuals are stunning, but the story is hoaky at best and the air combat is arcade all the way.
It is worth getting a used copy or renting it just to play it in high def though.

In the time since my previous post in this thread, I've realized the retardedness of it all. My friend Tom is getting a 360 (hopefully) for christmas because he's big on AceCombat and Halo, I'm not. I might buy Over-G for taking to his house, but I'm gonna stick with sims now, it's too late to replace this $650 investment with a controller.

I actually think the story the Ace Combat is quite a good departure from the overused "Russians are born evil so let's kick their asses" themes of many modern flight sims that I came across. I know I know, for most of us there was only the Cold War...... that's the point.

I have to agree with 195th_Seawolf. I think to many people are buying the game tick bundle thinking it will be a lot like other flight sim games.

Well, I have been messing around with it... it is very beautiful to look at, although no different in playability from the older versions... very fun, but extremely arcadish as to be expected. I have been watching my children play it, and they love it.

Its prob the most beautiful game about flying you can get. If any PC game can match it in the near future I'd be happy. Its all in the details..and the atmosphere. You FEEL like your in the middle of an air war even though its not coming from the sense of realism in how the planes fly bcus honestly they suck..but everything that surrounds you is telling you otherwise and I gotta say it kinda works...
I was surprised to find it had a padlock button too..!
So whats the deal, what century is FO ever coming out..?

What century... well if you are alive in the 22nd century, this era will span the years 2101–2200, look me up… otherwise you should be able to answer your own question. :wink2:
