Well poshed PR for that thing. The first thing I thought when I was looking at the website was it's an iPhone with a footprint of a table...hehe. :rofl I've seen news on screen tables for a few years now. Adding slick software and touchscreen to the now affordable 30" panels isn't a bad idea at all. I'll get the iPhone before the Surface table though.

Wow.....I remember a show back in the late 80s and early 90s that "foretold" of these things. It was "Star Trek: The Next Generation". All of the control panels in the Enterprise were of this design. Chalk up another one for sci-fi writers and movie/television production.....20+ years ahead of time.

So, when we finally get to the proper century of "The Next Generation" there probably won't even be "surface computing" left anymore. Everything will be synoptic implants on a mega computer called "The B.E.A.S.T."

Look up "B.E.A.S.T." or "The BEAST" on google and see what you come up with.

what about all the finger marks you would get you would end up smashing it with a hammer because you have to keep cleaning it.

BTW it more than likely won't work that well its from microscrap:nono:

I see a bit of a shift coming where touch screen technology might drop in price a bit. Looking at the celphone sites alone everyone is coming up with a touchscreen smartphone in the next 6 months. Donno if that will have any effect at all with computer touchscreen pricing though. Surface is not targeted to consumers, but to businesses in a limited quantity. It still looks like much of a proof of concept piece. I do welcome the thought of touchscreen technology breakthroughs in the consumer market though. Too bad it's only going to be in the celphone market in the near term.
