View Full Version : XviD AC3 and Nero Audio Codec
I've got a video that I downloaded recently, and it plays video, but doesn't play sound. It's an AVI file. I looked in the video properties and the audio codec is "Nero Digital Audio Decoder". I don't think I have the audo codec for this video or something. Does anybody know what might be going on with this file? I tried playing it in Windows Media Player 10, RealPlayer, and Quicktime player. Does anybody have any ideas on what I can do to fix this? Thanks.
PS: The video codec, is XviD AC3... but it plays video, so I don't think thats a problem.
It's basically MP4 and a derivate from OpenDivx.Try: http://www.xvid.org/.
Be sure to check any downloads for viruses and stuff.
I downloaded and installed some DivX 4.0 Codec Decoder or something, and I still have no sound on the video, with a nero audio codec.
Latest Xvid version is 1.1.1 or something. Keep in mind DivX is NOT XviD

I already have the latest XviD.
Are you sure, that it has a sound-track at all.

Search the web for a "codec pack" and you should be able to find collections of tons of codecs. That has fixed all my playback issues so far.

Get the CCCP Codec pack. It'll play ANYTHING. :wink2:
