Free T-shirt, what a deal!! :lol

I read that Alienware got some really good reviews, but elsewhere, I've read their tech support is one of the worst. Is this true? Also, do I have what I need in order to get Direct X 10 on my video card? Thanks in advance.

That looks like a very good setup depending on the quality of the parts that is, although as far as I know alienware use good stuff.
8800 GTX will support DX 10 and DX9 although DX9 perfomance may be a little under what the latest DX9 only cards can chuck out.

I am using 1 8800 GTS (one grade below the X) and I am really happy with it, even more so because if it does become taxed by the latest games I can just put antoher one in and SLI it.

The 6700 will also blow your socks off!

I am sure someone will give you a far better insight within a few days

I have an Alienware and although the system runs great there were a few points that let it down and hence I will not be buying another one.

I customised my Alienware and when it arrived it had stock parts when i paid for upgraded ones. Took another 3 1/2 weeks to get it back from fixing that.

The case is very poorly built and it is a struggle to open the front door the way it was designed to be. The case looks great but it is just plastic and not very well built ... a huge disappointment.

Also here in Australia to get warrenty you have to send the whole system back to base which is in a different state and takes up to 4 weeks round trip. I have had to do this twice now being left without a system I paid top dollar for.

I'm totally anti-prebuilt systems, even if it's entheusiast systems. I've always thought half the fun was being able to custom build a cool system by picking each piece and putting it all together on your own. I don't like the idea of giving Dell money for thier Alienware brand.
