Well, I'm hoping to get opinions from everyone. I've drifted away from the PC world alittle and I'm trying to get back into it by building a new system! I'm on a very tight budget so I need the biggest bang for the buck.

In all honestly I play COD2, FSX, Lock-on, AND FO when it comes out etc.

I'm currently looking at a $600 system, which will include:

ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813131013)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+(65W) Windsor 2.0GHz Socket AM2 Processor

XFX 7900GT 256MB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16814150216)

CORSAIR XMS2 1GB (2 x 512MB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820145566)

I currently use a 480W ThermalTake Silent Power supply, and will keep this for the new system

And for now I will keep my Maxtor 80G SATA 1.5G/sec HDD until I get some more money.

Anything suggestions or comments on the parts would greatly help my decision. Thanks!!

Suggest you get 2 -1Gb sticks of ram(2Gb total)...youll like the speed as well as room for more ram if you so chose to...

Maybe consider the nForce 590 board over the 570.

Marginally more expensive but much better!

Vampire14, I have thought about that, but what would be the big difference other then the North Bridge Chip? What would that give me?

like I said, I've been away from the tech world for a while!! Thanks the military for that one..since I've been out of H.S. I've missed everything with the 64-bit world...Don't really know how it works still.

Thanks again.

Graphics card transfer bandwidth at full speed with the nForce 590. Just check out the full specs for each mobo.

I almost did the same thing and nearly bought the 570 myself, but got the M2N32SLI 590.

If you don't think about using SLI in future. I recommend you to buy ASUS M2N-E based on 570Ultra chip instead.

Yeah Im thinking of going with the Fanless XFX7950GT....so, I dont think SLI will be needed.

Thanks

Get the 8800 GTS 320. The 7900 is DX9 only and slower tech.

I have the 8800 GT, and while it is a great card (benchmark wise), it took a long time for me to be able to play at least some of the games I have. It took nearly 3 months for me to be able to play Faclon 4 Allied Force, some games still don't work. I think NVIDIA pushed them out a little too soon.

With that being said...I love NVIDIA and would still prefer them over ATI, I worked for an NVIDIA card manufacturer before, and if you can afford it I would go with the BFG Technologies brand NVIDIA video card, they have an unsurpassed lifetime warranty and tech support is always open. If you get the 8800 video card you will need to probably push up your power supply to 650 watt minimum.

Hey RodemusPrime
I noticed you have the same mobo and ram as I have, am going to upgrade, and have been looking at the FX-60, how do you like it? any issues? I have always ran ATI cards, now a X1900XTX, how do you like the 7950 GX2 in SLI? are you raptors 10M RPM drives? and what size PS do you have?

Thanks man
