for those whom are interested, i installed my opty tonight and ran lock on for a few mins to see if there would be any improvement over my 4000+, and yes i did see the difference, over densly populated areas, not one stutter, and while shooting all my rockets at vehicles in an a-10 only one the two stutters when i first entered the pitch black smoke. fps over citys is up to 28 on avg it seemed, compared to about 20 b4 in a f-15 full burner  and while shooting all of my rockets my fps didnt drop below 18 which was when it stuttered, but a newer video card would fix that.
no difference in the time it took to load windows, but switching between programs and windows goes without any hesitation. i would say that i am very pleased as of now. we'll see when FO comes out  so in conclusion i would reccomend this cpu if you don't wanna switch mobo's and dont wanta spend a couple hundred extra for an fx-60

I've got an Venice 3000+ socket-939 atm at 2.4ghz, so that would be definitely a nice upgrade path for me. I'll probably look into getting one soon.

i would also like to add that at full load so far ive only seen 42c, compared to my high 60's with the 4000+, i'll check it again after i play some bf2 for a while and let ya's know, im only running on air also.

okay after bout 4hrs of some bf2[i know i have a problem, the game is just addicting] my temp maxed out at 55c, but within shutting the game down after bout 30secs it went down into the low 40's, which is still much better than what i had excepted, since i had heard that these dual cores got hot.

55C isn't a problem...if it was 70C...that would be a problem. Although I've always tuned my systems to 50C max sustained stress temps.

This is actually the one I'm interested in:

I'm used to overclocking the economy chips to FX speeds and have a ThermalRight XP-120 heasink. So I can get some milage out of the 165 Denmark.

is this a common standard to get this one to about 2.8 or is there only certain ones that are hitting that mark

Depending on batch number and a bit of random luck it varies. No certainties with OCing as far as what the upper cap is on a chip. You're trading off price for OC luck mostly.

that's what i figured, and im usually not lucky :) but my friend is also thinkin bout upgrading his 939 sckt too so i might see he thinks of it, since it is pretty cheap compared to the 300 i paid for my 185
