Because I didn't find anything about nonflyable planes I started new thread. I'd like to know which non-flyable planes are planned for FO.

I too am interested in which planes will be in the sky with us until the expansions / add ons are out.

For the first release you can expect all the aircraft to be there that share the base for daily ops. T-6II, T-38C, T-1, occasional C-21.

Extra combat aircraft may be added, depends if they are finalised.
And they will be added on their correct bases, not to Laughlin as this wouldn't be realistic.

Other aircraft will include civies from human and cargo transport up to the recreative aircraft.

Are these add on planes going to cost us, i know that might be a stupid question but im very new to this site and this game and the entire Combat Air Genre i have only got one flight sim and that FS:X so i havn't even had that long.

So no fighters in the first release, i am slightly upset by that and a little suprised but, i still look forward to this game a great deal.
And i understand that it is incredbly difficult to build this game.

You won't have the fighters at launch date but (unless it changed recently) you won't have to pay for them. You should be able to download them (F-16, F-15C/E, A-10) for free once XSI has finished them.

There will be a major release about once per year that you would have to pay for if you wanted the new content. Purchasing the major release gets you free smaller releases (which include combat aircraft) throughout the year.

Also, see these quotes by Pacman...

It is set in such a way though that each major release will have all the previous releases included.
So the naval add-on will have all the previous work + everything that comes with the naval add-on.

Aircraft that are finalised inbetween major releases will be distributed as free add-ons. The ones that are finalised very close to a next major release may be added to that release.

Also, the sim will not be "hitting the shops."

As far as the release goes we will provide online ordering and the distribution will be done through download and/ or a DVD mailed to your place.

I think it is fair to say that I need to correct my last statement that you quoted.

I wouldn't completely rule out shop distribution in the distant future, we just don't see it happen for the first, perhaps 2- 3 releases.
There are enough software programs out there which proof that online ordering and distribution can be very succesfull.

Off course if certain stores come to us with an interresting proposition then we'll always be interrested to hear them out.

You guys (FO Guys) should feel free to put anything you want on the transient ramp. I've seen all kinds of things out there from the CV-22 Osprey to C-130's. We get F-16's and A-10's; the F-22 was even out here for a few days (but I wasn't on base yet).

Going further on what Topspin just said here above. Is it possible to do the coding in such a way that we could see every now and then some F-16's, or whatever was mentioned above? Or is that to much coding work ?

That is likely, as we progress, and more particularly as we progress into dynamic campaign enigines etc, realistic movement of aircraft into and out of different bases will be implemented.

Not possible since we are working closely together with the USAF DoD, and we'll make sure that everything we use/ implement is cleared.
