Looking through my favorite demil site today I ran across an auction for 2 demil fighters, a F-101B and a F-105 both in the same lot. Interesting projects, but not really something I'd do for a simpit, so I thought I'd pass on the link to you guys as usual.

Those poor airplanes... The F-101B Voodoo was a good Interceptor for its time... Couldn't turn for anything but a good Interceptor none the less. And the mighty Thud, The F-105 Thunderchief was the only airplane type that was killed off as a result of attrition losses from the Vietnam War (almost half the aircraft built were lost due to combat). Theres a lot of history there. Its too bad they were scrapped and not used for display in a museum or air park somewhere.

I went to the air museum at Eglin AFB and they have an F-105 on display in side the building, You don't realize how large that A/C is untill you stand next to it, I remember seeing them in VN but never got close to one. they also have the F-101 Voodoo, another great A/C

I seem to remember the F-105 as being the largest single engine fighter-bomber ever built. Their size is immediatly apparent and is very impressive when you first walk up to one.

Yeah, we have both an F-101B and F-105 in our air museum (Castle Air Museum). They are neat aircraft.

Nice F-105B! You don't see too many of them around. Heres some pics of the F-101's and F-105's at the Pima Air Museum in Tucson.

Thanks for the link. I forgot to post the link to the picture last night:red: .
I was wondering what happened to Buno 164601 the other day. I saw a video of its last airshow performance at Oceana the other day.:thumb:

Vampyre - 20 years ago that F-105 was parked by itself where the museum is now at Edwards. i used to ride my bike as a teenager and sit under that aircraft and draw the details on the plane such as the landing gear, etc... Didn't have cameras like they do now so I just drew everything on my sketchpad. I used to sit for hours under that same plane. Very fond memories. My dad was stationed at Edwards in 86' working on the HH-60D Night Hawk test program
