I wish I could get it. This is my favorite aircraft. It is the 1st plane I crewed in the AF.:thumb:

That's so cool!! I crewed on the KC-135R's back in the late 90's. My particular plane was built back in 1958. It was of course an "A" model before getting transfigured into the "E" and then the "R" model with the engine and wing refit. It wouldn't be too far fetched that it could have refueled this very fighter.

My plane was a 1959 model. Right down the ramp from us were KC 135's, & B-52's. Here is a link to my old airplane in the boneyard. Glad it isn't at the bottom of the Gulf. Alot of F-106's were drones shot down during William Tell, weapons teasting, etc.

That's really cool!!! I really do like the F-106.
I don't know where my KC-135 is now. Actually, more accurately the KC-135 I worked on was a "Q" model later a "T" model which was used to refuel the SR-71 with JP-7, it actually had a dual fuel system to carry JP-8 for itself and then JP-7 for the SR. I liked JP-7 better because it had a sort of sweet smell to it. Yeah I know, I got used to that JP smell. I did a whole lot of refueling and since I was a Sr. Airman I was in charge of the refuel operation, it was pretty cool. I'll have to post some pics of my Saudi days.
I did some noseart over at Fairchild AFB you can see them here: http://www.clubhyper.com/reference/kc135rartdj_1.htm

Back when my dad was a fighter pilot in the Air Force, it was the F-106's that I first remember him ever flying (he flew I think 2 more before that). He later flew F-15's, but I will always remember the F-106 at K.I. Sawyer AFB

:sign_welcome Nathansl2003! so your dad's a retired pilot? That's awesome. Well instead of threadjacking I'll just wish you a pleasant stay in this great forum.
