Well, I've decided I'm not airbrushing this art on the panel. Why you ask? Because I stink!
It's been years since I did some serious airbrushing. But the good news is that I've found a place that will do nose art decals and I'm going to get this done as one. :thumb:
Here's an update on the art. I've also included the outline, so you can see the work put into the art. I've decided to throw the whole project into Adobe Illustrator and vector it. In the end I think it's totally better and plus it's totally re-scaleable.
p.s. If you are interested in knowing how to illustrate like this (the same way I did for the Fighter Ops T-shirt contest go to this fabulous site:

Enjoy!

Well, that's great!! Cool, yeah if you like technical illustration like I do, you'll love the http://www.khulsey.com/ site.
Ehi, not only interesting stuff in your site, but you made also pages in my language with all correct terms and syntax as well - and this is unfortunately rare.
Well done, all-fired-up, and keep on the good job! :thumb:

You can see the other threads on this pit builders area. I sketched the whole idea out on paper first, then brought that into Photoshop and did some pre-vis stuff. When it wasn't looking like I could airbrush this easily I turned to Illustrator which I should have just stuck with all the way. The only reason why I was trying to airbrush it, was because I couldn't find a printer that could do this custom art who wouldn't charge me an arm and a leg. But I found classicinsignia.com www.classicinsignia.com Check em' out! He works with a lot of military guys and does custom art for them.
very nice ... thx for the info ... Now I can't wait anymore to start my studies ... en learn as much as possible lol

Nah.. it isn't mine the author is unknown. Its from Aliens movie, "Bug Stomper" was one of the drop ships (the one that crashed). It just suit very well for nose art on a Tomcat

Would look nicer on the tail of a tomcat. The first Fighter Ops F-14 squadron ... VF101 "The Bug Stompers"

Go make a movie and leave us ground pounders to do the real work. :evils:
