Does anyone have a photo of F-22A cockpit - left panel - from main production series aircraft ? The whole cockpit is diferent than of those from the pre-production, and YF-22.

I have hardly seen anything of the raptor pit but vague distant pics that lack detail or are not focused on the panels itself...Ive seen a few from out of the pit at the hud frame and glare shield tho. anyone know where there are a few GOOD pics to have a gander at? and even better if they had pics of the HOTAS, wouldnt mind seeing what sort of similarities between the grips in the raptoe and its little (but older) brothers are

I think i have the solution for you... just got to find it. I know there is a company out there that makes replicas for training purposes... and they have the best raptor cockpit shot in their website. That one's actually a simulator so its super acurate... but again I have to find the website for you ...

That pit is inside of another airplane. Was it used as a slow chase-plane? Also, this makes it safer for the pilot to push the envelope with the plane.

That is an ugly throttle, but I am sure that the first few times you use it and feel the boatloads of thrust in your back you will forget how ugly it is.

Heartburn check this gallery:

To my knowledge this airplane was used to test FBW controls and some other avionics systems (radar, RWR etc.)

So, what are the canards on the testbed for? Do they house extra electronics for the pit? Or are they for added stability which I cannot imagine it needs.

*EDIT*
Electronic warfare (EW) and communication, navigation and identification (CNI) sensors were mounted directly on the sensor wing, which was designed to simulate the sensor positioning found on the F/A-22's wings.

man, that is a cool way of testing.
