im looking for a suncom SFS stick for some parts to finish off my F/A-18 HOTAS.
HOWEVER there was a few types of this stick so I'll need to be a little more descriptive...

The original had a hat switch and a big red light, this one is no good. One of the most important things i will be getting off this stick is the castle switch!
So the F-15 talon or F-15 hawk ( both have the castle switch, not actually sure whats the differance between em, but i think one is USB)
heres a pic of the type im after...NOTE its got the castle in the middle.

hope someone out there has one or can direct me to one...Im constantly checking ebay for one, but they are fairly hard to find. often suncom sticks are on ebay but arent they type I need with the castel switch!
Cheers

EDIT: just found out that the suncom F-15 raptor also has a castle switch, but its just there for show, and doesnt do anything...I need it to work so the rapto isnt any good to me.
thanks.

I’m also looking for that stick, really hard to find these days.

You might remember that there were few people here who said they have few of those things, but when I PM them, I got no answer.
A friend of mine wanted to make the handles out of aluminum alloy, but the whole thing went south, he is playing with the original handle and I’m left with nothing.

Hi, I have both a Talon (with Throttle) and Raptor sitting on a shelf gathering dust......

I got both from ebay a while ago and havent done anything with them since.

Both are certainly up for grabs if you are interested.

Hey Jimbo, check the private messages.
Fatb0y60, are you interested in both stick and throttle, or only the stick ? I'll take what's left if the price is right ;)

Im interested for sure...check PM's jimbo.
Sundowner, we'll see how it goes, I have a throttle, but wouldnt mind one for spares cause mines spiking big time now. went out and got an X52 as an intrum till I get the hornet hotas set up.

Well I would like to have that throttle too :) so far, I've got modified IterAct SV-242 throttle... anybody remember those ?

Fatb0y, have you tried to clean potentiometers in that throttle ? Usually that's the cause of the signal spiking problem.

EDIT, that’s how my throttle looks ATM.

it was modified a lot of times, the original electronics inside was removed long time ago.

How good is this stick anyway? I've been looking for a stick that has 2 sides to the throttle, and one that is a hornet stick or similar. The $81 winning bid isn't very promising. I have a X-52 right now. Or does anybody know where I can get a hornet stick for the PC?

There is virtually no chance of getting a Hornet HOTAS at the moment unless you make it yourself.

why don't we in the flight sim community start sending [polite] emails to Thrustmaster [i did a couple of weeks ago] asking them to consider manufacturing F-15/F-18 controls.....maybe a few thousand such requests and assurances of a good market might move them ....???????????

love the optimism, but highly doubt it. I think we'll have to wait and see what these rumours comming from around the place bring to fruition. In the meantime Im going to keep on making mine.

theres been a few ebay auctions the last coupple weeks in which I picked up some switches for my HOTAS...you guys might be interested, I think there is a few more.

http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZpowerguy921

NOTE, there may be more to come from this seller, so keep an eye out. I bought my Trim hat from him a while ago and in the last few weeks hes put 2 more up so I dont know how many more/types of switches hes got. But they are the real deal, not like the trim hats you get in a FLCS or anything..

I got a pickle, trim hat, comms switch (2 way with the hat) for the throttle, and the 3 push buttins for the throttle from him.

Would you ever be able to build one for somebody else :evils: ?

when I first started to think about doing it, I thought about massing out like 5 or so and then selling them to pay for mine. then I started to think about the work involved and more so the possible crap if one isnt the best (ie customer support)...

We'll see how It goes first I think. When I get a second I'll see if I can upload pics of it so far anyway.
