Orbiter is an incredible bit of work from one person. Very interesting, detailed, and accurate (in terms of physics).

Another good free one is Eagle Lander at http://www.eaglelander3d.com (http://www.wright-flyer.net/desertaviation/eagle)
It's a nice small, but detailed sim of landing the Apollo 11 (and others) landing of the moon. Cool stuff.

ill have to try that one out. yes orbiter is quite amazing, but it will take a person quite a few months to fully learn, understand, and apriciate orbitersim. have you checked out Mico Flight, they have a free demo that you can play for like 20 minutes. Its quite fun, made by a single person to.

Hey Guys

Speaking of free sim games, I've just come across this F-16 FlightSim developed by a guy in Hungary called Frakk. I saw a video of it on Youtube, and it looked amazing. I just downloaded it and played it, and all I can say is it is fantastic, although it's still in the beta testing phase.

Video is here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=6l-D3xiZDow

You can get it at his website

http://www.repszim.extra.hu/eng.html

and download it from the comments...
Hope you guys give it a look
Should there be further development on this sim
I think it will be quite awesome..although FO will be better

He also happens to be a member of the FO coding team.

Very interesting. A couple notes...

From the video, the sim 'feels' quite nice and realistic.
The afterburner is quite nice and better than what I'm used to seeing in games..

But everything was good until he did that weird cobra maneuver looking thing in the 16  ... that was kind of a turn off.

But overall, good to know that he's also a dev. of FO.

Buckshot, is the developer of CSP sim (http://csp.sourceforge.net/wiki/Main_Page) also on FO team? the flight model of that game was quite nice IIRC.

No, CSP is not a single developer, it's a group of people who come and go, I don't know of any contributers to CSP being on the FO team.

Hello,
I know cobra is not a maneuver done by F16, but as far as I know aerodynamically it is possible. I have made my sim to be able to controll the elevator manually if you hit 'M', so you can execute the cobra. Perhaps this is not realistic, but I don't care, it's fun.

good to know! Someone should try holding the override button on the real F-16 and try that!
Hey Frakk, are you continuing the development of your sim or have you switched completely to FO now?

I haven't worked on my sim for months now, but I wouldn't like to stop developing it, I'm just slow.

Hey Frakk

Very glad to hear that you are a part of the FO coding team. Seems like a small world after all.
Eagerly looking forward to your next update.
I had put my own face on the pilot & name & callsign on the side of the window of the F-16 jet in your FlightSim by editing the texture(bmp files). I always wanted to do this in a FlightSim. Had done this in CounterStrike & Delta Force 1
If this feature were a part of FO, would be great (just a suggestion)
It's always fun to play as yourself.
