damn im still astounded by the detail of its cockpit, thats got more detail then some of the planes in lock on :O

yeah! Looks great. Although the gunsight isnt realistic, it should be in a orange-red-ish colour and of a different shape than just a crosshair. Everything else is just great! I wish Lockon had clickable pits..

hehe, i lived at wittmund half of my life, i know alot of dudes there in both squadrons, fireresque, controlling, inst etc. Was back there once again for 2 weeks in 2005.

Ok, I don't want to keep this going, but maybe you haven't heard about the F-4E 2000 PI programm. After all it's based on the ICE, so if it is not effective...

Oh, I see! But that has been (almost combat) proven over the Aegean, too. It was first intruduced on the Vipers, then it gained popularity and was used on the F-5s until they retired and the F-4s.

The F-4E 2000 PI (Peace Icarus) is based on the ICE. The upgrade includes the AN/APG-65GY radar, Honeywell H-764G laser inertial navigation system (LINS), GPS, an Elbit Modular Multi-Role Computer (MMRC), the LITENING targeting pod, and the ability to carry AIM-120s and AGM-130s.

Well you can see it either way, but i think if you would test the two cammo paints in a variaty of weather conditions, you would find it harder to spot the Luftwaffe Phantom in comparison to yours, but thats just my eyesight :)

Regarding PI: Well thats cool! The ICE in the beginning (so did our RF-4E/Fs) had the ground attack role and the ability to carry all sorts of munitions including the AGM-65 Maverick. The ground attack capability of the german airforce phantom was phased out quite early, and the RF-4E/Fs were put out of service in the early 90s, some being resold. Im aware of the fact that the Hellenic AF has aquired several ex Luftwaffe Recce Phantoms.
Considering the AN/APG-65GY Radar, we have that Radar too BUT iam not sure about the extension GY, im just aware of the fact that we have the 65 from the C Hornet and we are capable of firing the AIM-120! Cant comment on the other systems except the LITENING Pod.. since we dont use the Phantom in Air to Ground, we dont have that capability of carrying it. Though we are capable of carrying several ECM Pods, dont know what type but ill look into that!

i wish it had a real startup seq. though...

while we're on topic, does anyone know where the hell the navigation mode selector is? there are air duct temp gauges in it's place... I cant find itttt :(
