Anyone interested in building a mirage III pit? the other day I went a museum at williamtown before my sim ride and has a tape mesure with me to take some mesurements of the hornet pit when I thought someone might want the mirage...So i measured up a mirage pit they had there. If theres intrest I'll make a few quick drawings and post em.

Hmm, I know that mirage pit very well, especially the dimensions from having to fish a bloody camera lense cap from under that ejection seat. I can tell you the dimensions there - freaking tight!

lol. the side consoles are really small and the walls of the pit wrap over them heaps, its pretty cramped in there.

Oh hell yeah, martin baker was in on to something with those MK9/10 seats, and the SJU-17 (same seat really)

they make you sit really upright and support your legs with the fairly deepish bucket, and the back of the seat bucket is shaped for this aswell....

you are actually looking right over the glare shield down the HUD in the F/A-18 (At least i am) when the seat height is adjusted so you can see all the HUD info, dont know if this is the case for the eagle etc?.

HOWEVER, that mirage seat is a differant story. It is also a martin baker seat, I THINK a MK6, and that puppy is one un comfy mofo.

Might be a differant story with full flight gear on but.

I have heard from ruprect (from the vaaf and a part of the XSI team now i believe) that he finds the ACES II doesnt have give enough support to your legs...I dont really know never sat in one.
I'd imagine the viper would be a comfy pit, with the incresed seat recline you prolly dont need as much leg support from the bucket...
