I´m playing FC and most of the time I´m happy with the FPS, however as soon as I touchdown or I have multiple wingmen my FPS lowers. So I´m considering buying some new hardware, either 1Gb extra memory or an ATI x1600 card, wich one should I go for?

My specs:
1 Gb DDR2 400 Mhz RAM
ATI x600 256mb
2.8 GHz pentium

I have an AMD ATHLON XP 2800 + with 1 GB of RAM and an FX6800 GT. I still get bad FPS...its because of the processor..i dunno..

1. LOMAC doesn´t need any more than 1 Gig RAM
2. A graphics card upgrade from ur x600 will get u some improvement, but not much.
LOMAC is CPU bottlenecked. If u really want to see more frames, get an FX57. Dualcore won´t help...

what about a new pentium 3.2GHz processor? and I´m reffering to the FPS when I´m playing with the su25t, not the others

u should just get a better processor that will make everything a bit faster.

Your setup is fine, try the FPS mod that will vastly improve things or adjust the detail level to boost your FPS.

Try the "advanced sky for basic haze users" mod at lomacfiles. Also I found quite a few FPS by doing a clean boot. See here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796

2 gigs does help, it makes it run smoothier. When I went from 1 gig to 2 gigs I saw a difference in the load times as well.

Like Cali said, you need 2 gigs of ram, it's surely helps alot.. Before i got a amd 2800+ with 1 gig, i changed the 1 gig of rams for 2, big different. No one of our squad can set everything on maximum. Most of our members has a very high end system, will mean highest videocards, highest proccesors, etc.. So don't put the settings on max.. Higher AA will do a big different..
"Everything" on max settings and 40 fps, ground and airvieuw, i will see that??!!:red:

Hello gentlemen !

The CPU is definatly the bottleneck for LOMAC.
FPS also depends from the ongoing action in the scenery...
Lots of tanks (AAA and SAM activity ) causing explosions from time to time drop my FPS to below 20 (sometimes 11-15 !! ) when i make a low altitude attack with the A-10.
Also flying over cities drop the FPS very much.

In regular BVR Fights or Close Air to Air Combat FPS are about 60 - 90 !

My Computer:
AMD FX-57
2 GB of Corsair DDR RAMS
Geforce 7800 GTX
2 X Raptor 80 GB Harddisks as RAID 0
Soundblaster Audigy ZS 2

And yes .. i am using any known mod ( Modman 5.0 )
Textures and Scenery on high setting !!!!
( if you use medium or low scenery you really get much better FPS, but i love the detailed scenery in LOMAC, so why should i turn it off ? or reduce the detail ? )

8 X Anisotropic filters

if you use speed settings no AF and no AA you get much more FPS too.
But scenery looks crappy. :nono:
