Well Ubi does have the right to add that software and it is mentioned in the EULA but is certainly is not a great way to increase confidence in the company expecially after starforce.
I agree, the proper way to do that in my opinion is to ask users in the instalation process if they want to install it or not. Of course im sure they dont do that because 90% of the people would say no.

XSI executives.
We need your support of this piracy. PLS help us simmers to fight and win this struggle.
We demand a free fix to the BoontyBox program other wise everytime we lunch the game, another line of code will be added to the registry without the way to remove it from our sys.

It really has nothing to do with us whatsoever, we can't tell Ubisoft how to run their business. If you don't like it, take your business elsewhere, if they care they'll change, if they don't they won't, that's as simple as it gets.

Don't worry about it. You haven't offended anyone. Julian is mearly indicating that XSI has nothing to do with BoontyBox or Ubi business practices and that we shouldn't get involved with something that doesn't concern us (which is the correct action). Our only real responsibility is to make sure we run our business correctly and responsibly.
More info on how to remove it after the upgrade.
Yes, you can remove bootybox completely from your system. The following is for windows XP
1. Control panel--> Add/Remove and select bootybox and remove it.
2. Start-->Run=-->type in box msconfig and hit enter. Go to startup and uncheck the bootbox. Close but do not restart windows.
3.Start-->Run=-->type in box regedit and hit enter. Navigate to My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Sha red Tools\MSConfig\StartupFolder and delete the subfolder that refers to bootybox. Close and restart your windows.
That should take care of it.

Why not just put in phoney information?
You could do that... but... they still have access to your IP address, and everything you do on the internet.
