I'm really itching for a rotary wing flight sim (other than that offered by MSFS 2004).

I have the following titles to date: Commanche 4 from Novalogic KA-52 Team Alligator from SIMIS Enemy Engaged RAH-66 vs KA-52 Fair Strike from Buka Entertainment

Can anyone else recommend anything?

why not Gunship!3 by Microprose?
it's an old sim but there were 3 helos: Apache, Cobra and German Tiger:thumb:

definitely Jane's Longbow2
From older titles, check Jane's Longbow, DIs Hind and maybe Comanche3 - it was more a simulation than arcadish C4.

Yeah C4 is arcadish....

I'm having issues with Fair Strike and Saitek X-52. Does anyone know how to integrate the collective to the throttle? I was able to change the collective pitch but not the collective +/- itself.

Edit:
I think I missed out on Janes Longbow... will it work on WinXP?

Hmm... LB2 is a bit of a nag to run....

Not was... it still is ! :bigsmile:

The source code of the game was released to the public few years ago and it is still being modified by the fans. Its dynamic campaign is awesome, the graphics are good, and it was one of the first sims with 3D cockpit only. But the avionics kinda sucks :nono:

You can fly most of the helos right now, like OH-58, UH-60, Mi-24 but the cockpits are 2D and of Apache and Havoc. Well at least when I was playing it last time :wink2:

Yup, best part of it was an urban combat between me and a friend on 56k modem connection somewhere in Cuba, me in Apache, him in the Havoc... scenes like in Blue Thunder movie :bigsmile:

But don't try it, just get EECH and download mods, they will give you all the campaigns, maps and helos from EEAH.
