you cannot fly other planes with their cockpit.
Several mods have been created in order to fly other airplanes, but with the cockpits of normal flyable aircrafts. You cannot integrate a new cockpit.

For exemple, the Virtual Thunderbirds fly the F16 with the Thunderbird skin, but with a F15 cockpit.

Moreover, even if you can fly, for exemple, a F16, you won't be able to use all its weapons. No problem for air to air weapons, but for GBUs or harms, you won't be able to use them.

To fly a AI aircraft, you have to edit the Me.ini file, and change human cockpit=no to yes. You'll be able to fly what you want with the Su27 cockpit. (but the FM will suck)

Why? it's just for fun

The Virtual Thunderbirds fly their F16
The Virtual Blue Angles fly their F/A18
A German squad created a Tornado mod
...

And if you want to create a video or do some screenshots, it's a great way to fly in any plane you want what AI can't do
Even though for me the interest in doing this won't go further

its quite understandable, if your new to the game and as someone else pointed out, watched a few of the aerobatic team videos, you could be mistaken for thinking it was somehow a new flyable. most other games are able to do it such as Falcon so why shouldn't they think Lomac was capable of this??

now I knew it wasnt a flyable, my question was, is there a way I can edit something to make it flyable for me... either I misunderstood what he said, or you did... but if he means 'why fly f16 in lomac, when u got f4? then I answered saying I already do fly f4, I just wanted a change :D

you cant "fly" an F-16 in lomac.

what you can do is fly any of the flyables and then modify the model so that it "appears" you are flying an F-16.

an example is to change the F-15's external model to the F-16's model, however from inside you are flying the F-15 with its cockpit and flight model and systems, the only thing it changes is how it looks from an external view.

hope that makes sense.

okay, i didnt even mention Falcon 4 in my post and secondly, i was referring to the fact that it is too bad that you cannot do such things in Lock On, why are you giving me such "crap" just for offering my opinion?! I dont want to argue , its finished
