It was successful landing.. a bit short – first wire probably, and scared the living sh*t out of both LSO and GIB who suppose to be my instructor, but he was actually drunk.

Thanks Nighthawk for the response... I'll definitely keep that in mind... Unfortunately its been a few months that I haven't flown in MSFS.

Also, sorry about my miss leading question... what I really meant was: do any of the carriers have lights in real? and if they do, are they that bright?

It's really hard to find a good aircraft carrier for Flight Simulator.. actually there are non. The one I found was:
- Waikato carrier (moving blast shields, but no fresnel lights and its a bit strange)
- ArrCab carriers (no lights and moving parts if I remember correctly)
- Nimitz carriers - CVN-72/75 (no deck lights, no moving parts, but have crew and Fresnel lights)
- Alphasim CVN-65 (paywere, but have a demo freewere version, no moving parts, weird sterile textures, but have working lights and some jets on deck)

For my screen I used the last one, and T-45C Goshawk from DSB Design (Freewere). The other problem with FS9 is the lack of catapult and arrestor wires, but there are program that make it looks like they’re there, making areas where if you touch down with your hook out - just slows you down to stop. I'm using the 3 Wire v2.0 (freeware) for that.

Damn how long I have to wait for a proper Navy jet sim :confused:

yeh sundowner i have the waikato and the general kutz that came with my MiG 29K by iris.... i really only use the carriers in fs2004 for screenshots

the general is good except i dont use any wires or catapult programs...

i hope the F-14A Iris are working on comes with a US carrier bundle like the General, the F-14A demo is awesome except for lack of finished vc, best tomcat around!

I must say I hate the FM in fs9 when it comes to planes though... you can land a plane hard as hell, and it'll still have intact gear lol... not to mention the jets go fast way too quick

yeh its meant more for commercial planes... i really only use fs9 for carrier stuff, screenshots and flying demos with some jets i have that are a pleasure to fly
