What do you guys think of this?
http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=28
6dof, moving Hud, clickable pit, advanced physics... and a drunk pilot?
can't get much better than that
The vid is really good and promissing, i would like to see some weapon system at work though.
Sehm the pilot is not drunk, its that song that is driving him crazy  (i guess i dont have to say that i didnt like the music)

The sound and dust effects are in the works.
This new flyable is looking to be a blast to play.

Too much dust, and to condensed, no blades shadows, and few gauges are looking weird (flat)
clickable pit, advanced physics...Well I don't see this on that video :wink2:
Anyone remember Werewolf, the old Novalogic/Commanche game/sim of the Ka-52?
Some nice cut scenes in it.

Its there alright:bigsmile: , this is prebeta IMO I think we'll all be blown away when we see the real deal V1.2. So far I'm quite impressed with the FM already as its a big leap ahead of FS2004s and LB2s FM.
I hope they reduce the dust, thats the only major thing i could fault with it really.:thumb:

The wheels on the heli looked really stupid when they showed close-ups. The looked like JPG images that had been stuck on with glue. Also, wouldn't the wheels rotate just a little bit when the heli is flying?
And just out of interest...what happens if you land in front of the convoy? Will they continue driving and smash right into you? Or will they go around you? Is this being considered in FO?

Subs LB2 was ages ago if you want to compare FM to something, compare it to Comanche vs Hokum - latest version, and FS2004 helos FM is not so bad either, all you have to do is to remember not fly to fast backwards or it will freak out

I always wanted to know. Is the FS2004 Bell helicopter really accurate? I mean, Do you have to press forward on the stick ALL the time to stop the nose from popping up!?? I remember it is VERY tiring to fly! And often it went crazy when I hovered and tried to land.

Check HoverControl (http://hovercontrol.com) for mods, there should be pretty accurate Flight model for the B206, see also the proper configuration (http://www.hovercontrol.com/artman/publish/article_23.shtml) needed for flying helos in that sim

They'll go around you, because I've done it with an F15 when I landed on a road. If you blow up a bridge in front of a convoy they stop.

LB2 is still the best gunship sim, best flown with an FLCS, TQS and RCS.:thumb: . And it supported 2 seats:bigsmile:. You can do loops and rolls on LB2.

if you've ever been in hueys, the jordan moore models at hovercontrol will bring tears to your eyes.... the 'Nam Huey did so with me...almost exactly like the old H-models ...cockpit was just like home [used to crew hueys way back when]

Thanks, Sundowner. Subs, that's really cool! Glad to hear it! Things really have come along in Flightsims!
By the way, in FO, Please tell me we will be able to ditch our plane in the water without blowing up the second we touch terra hydra?

Yeah I've been in Hueys a few times its like being inside an egg beater:bigsmile: . In fact the last one I was in was from the Vietnam war era. And that was last year.

Sorry, what game is FC?
I think they should make it in FO that you have to open your cockpit and get out if you ditch, otherwise eventually your plane sinks and you drown :D
By the way, I have really been wanting to ask...what will happen in FO when you die? Are they going to simulate that in all its reality too? :D What has the trend been lately in flight games? I will never forget the classic arms going up to cover the head and bright yellow that followed when dying in Strike Commander....aaaah those were the days :P I think he screamed too...can't remember
FC=flaming cliffs, also known as lockon 1.1, its the first lockon expansion, black shark will be lockon 1.2. I dont know if i understand your question about dying, but when you crash or get blown up in the air, there is no dead sequence or something like that, you just see your plane in flames in lockon or all messed up in falcon with the pilot just seating in the cockpit. No screaming or suffering for now.
F4AF features screaming particularly when ejection goes horribly wrong:bigsmile: , lockon features a death sequence in FC by sudden loss of control of the aircraft. And the external view shows blood on the canopy. F4AF features a death counter in the logbook which is very cool. FC features full realism by death of the pilots logbook which is a pain as death occurs quite often online in FC particularly in A/A matches such as Gunzo or heaters.

Ejections going wrong? You mean like ejecting at Mach 2? Or ejecting upside down at 100 feet? hehe

I tried a crazy thing: I've flown witn Su-25T over Mach-1!! and my wings broke away and that is good situation for eject:

My a/c is destroyed and can you without wings land? It's unfair!!!

02-21-2006, 20:48
you must have a descent rate similiar to the old "lifting bodies"....lol
wow SuperKungFu i haven't seen that one before.
what did you do for it to lose the wingtips only? (nice recovery btw!)

i just started diving at about 10,000 until my speed was close to 900. Then pull back hard (add flaps to increase lift). Once your nose is right above the horizon...BAM...wings are gone (this could vary...sometime its 1 wing, whole wings, wing tips...etc). And once i got that, juse try to stablize it with a LOT of rudder and stick movements. Then slowly bring it down to the runway. Too bad my gears were broken otherwise i would have landed perfectly :bounce: I'll try better next time.
Here's 2 more pic just for the heck of it

Didn't land though since i didn't see an airport, but it shows you can maintain a stable flight with most of the wings gone.
