It's realistic depending on where you live. In other areas it would be unrealistic.
A lot of US cities and towns (I can't speak for other places) have tree ordinances that create the "green peace dream" you speak of. In Modesto, CA (where I lived most of my life), there is a tree ordinance that specifies that every yard associated with a house has to have a minimum of one tree. I would guess that in Modesto's residential areas there are probably three trees on average for every house. Similar ordinances exist in a lot of other towns and cities I have lived in over the years. Redmond, WA which is the Microsoft home also has similar ordinances I believe. I suspect that the MSFS designers based their typical urban area after what they were familiar with (namely their own town). If you look at the house areas in Redmond using Google Earth you will notice that Redmond looks more like a forest than a city.

Better not come to NZ then - got the odd tree down there too! :thumb:
A fair point, I guess its just because they seem badly placed (inside a house), look terrible and are completely disproportionate to the house size, but it is rather old software now, I just like to gripe about FS because they don’t seem to try as hard as they could to make a good sim and leave it to the community to do the work.
PS. Trees are good:thumb:

Something else I really dislike about MSFS is the size of everything. I fly in real, well, GA in that matter, and I know how houses look like at 3000ft, or 10,000ft. And houses and objects in MSFS are just too huge! I have to climb up to 10,000 ft, and then Its like 3000ft in real. That kills it all for me; and that's why I have stopped playing FS. Of course addons help this situation.. so it is possible to go that way, but then again, your FPS will get eaten up.
Look at my specs, now my experience shows that with this computer and maxed out graphics, I get about 12FPS when flying over LA with a little weather at night.(remember this is almost a 3 year old game!) That's when we're talking flying in a generic Cessna... That's another reason I dont like FS.. not very efficient. If I think about it, I can think of so many other programs that have a lot more going on, are a lot better looking and they run PERFECT on my PC. Examples would be LOMAC in multi-player (which is even known for being a CPU hog) and BF2 in 64 player servers; go figure...
Hey Shatterer, what a coincidence, I happen to work in Modesto and have been working there for over 10 years.
