Doing good. FO is keeping me busy. Doing all of the airbase stuff.
BTW, I visited Frugal'sWorld yesterday. It's the first time I have been there in about a year. Once I noticed that the site looked totally different I left. What is the world coming to I ask you?
FS2004 is all I'm flying right now. I haven't flown F4 in over a year and a half. Somewhere along the line I just lost interest.

Shame you're not flyin' F4 recently.
I'm sure FO and/or F5.0 will change that 'n' all... :thumb:
How's HAOLE.....? Haven't received a PM from him in a LONG time.
So - I think I'm gonna' break up with him.
I TRIED to do the right thing by the man, but........ well..........
He's a bad kisser, anyway.....! (or - so Julian says..... :wink2: )
Later Master Baiter.

Yeah, poor Gorn has been sitting very lonely in my PhotoBucket account for a lot of years. He has been waiting patiently for his chance to spring on a new and unsuspecting audience. :thumb:

Good to see you.....I think.

One of the nice things about this thread is that I can be as off topic as I want since there was never a topic to begin with.
Anyway, this week I picked up a bunch of positive reps (including one from our favorite spammer). I also picked up one negative rep. A few days ago I typed out several pages worth of posts and spent hours doing it so that I could answer this one poster's concerns. So what do I get for my trouble? A negative rep from the guy. The world is truly unfair.
The plus side of getting a negative rep is that me makes me feel BAD. You know, as in "bad to the bone." I'm thinking of buying a leather jacket and riding a Harley.

I wouldn't feel too bad about it Paul, the positives should far outweigh then negatives. The good thing about the rep system also, is that it is weighted heavily based on the rep the person who is giving you rep has.
So what that means is that if you really screw up and you get negative rep from people who are generally helpful and regarded highly in the forums then you will take a hit, but if someone is giving you negative rep just out of spite, it will generally be the type of person who is not highly regarded and thus has low rep himself, in most cases that will have absolutely no effect on your rep level at all, or at most maybe a -1 compared to the possible +10 you may get from getting positive rep from people who are the real contributers to these forums.
Don't let that dissuade you from breaking out the leathers though, I hear it turns 'Gorny on to see a man in leather :wink2:

Nah, it doesn't matter to me. I was mearly amused when I saw it in my UserCP.
SOW - maybe they did it by accident.
I just got negative rep but positive comment from somebody re. a link I posted to the Brevity Code.
Jeeze, ya try to help some people..................

Actually what you MIGHT be seeing is not negative rep, but rep by people who are not able to actually affect your score.
The little symbol next to the rep has three states:
Green: Positive rep that has affected your rep score, the amount it affects it depends on a number of factors, the number of posts the person has made, if the person giving the rep is an admin or moderator, etc. The rep you gain may be 1 point up to 10 points or more in one hit, depending on those factors.
Black: (which is what I think you guys may be seeing) can be either positive or negative, what it means is that the person giving you the rep does not have enough posts (this was set to 10 but I just changed it to 1), or a high enough rep level to affect your reputation. So if a person who falls into that category gives you rep, be it positive or negative, you will not be affected.
Red: This is negative rep. Just like the positive rep, the number of points deducted from your rep varies depending on the person who gives you negative rep.
Hope that helps.
Me want Rep! Me Want Rep! Hahahahah !
:D I never got a clue about that stuff :)

Best thing about rep whoring threads on this forum, is they can just as likely attract negative rep as positive :wink2:
Sorry Buckshot, I know you were hinting at wanting negative rep and i tried to help out. Unfortunately i buggered up and gave you positive rep. Ah well, next time man :greendude

Not sure I like the fact that the rep is anonymous. Seems a bit faceless to me. Just doesn't feel "community-like". Not to mention the fact that it can be exploited by those with a sadistic streak.......http://forum.racesimcentral.com/images/smilies/mwahaha.gif

This is a cool post hehe. I gave everybody who gave me rep rep in return :D Maybe we could start a rep farm :O And this could lead to rep wars, where the moderators desperately try to reduce our rep while we feed each other positive rep :P (ok doubt that would work, they could effectively give everybody permanent 0 rep hahaha) :evils:
What was this post originally about again?

Hmm, Batfink, it shouldn't be anonymous, check your user cp, you should see it listed, liquid, I take it you are seeing yours?

Nope. Just has "Thread" , "Date" , "Comment" . The "Posted By" column is missing. I think this is the case for at least some of the other guys as well.

Yeah, had a look, it does seem to be that way for everyone except admins, I can't see any option to change it. Being anonymous probably isn't that bad a thing though, there are quite a few checks and balances in there to prevent mis-use of the system, so I don't see too many problems there.
I know some guys put their names in the "comments" box - seems a good idea and thats what i do now.
We will just all have to be gentlemanly and honourable about it.

Buckshot,
I sure hope BATFINK never has the opportunity to see who has been leaving him reps. I would hate for him to find out about all of the negative reps I've been leaving him over the last few months. :jester:
Dammit! The cruel irony is that I'm going to have to reward that wit with positive rep!
SOW - I'm saving the RED stuff for your next page long post
:wink2:
[Edit - Have to put that rep on ice for now. It won't let me rep ya again]
