i built this in late 2001...called it SR-1 [Simrider One]....but dismantled it this past christmas , to my wife's happiness....[:evils: but i have better plans in mind, hehe..]... i prefer the "generic" approach, since i havent fallen in love with one aircraft type [or maybe the Su-27?]...i want to be able to fly anything, so i let the game graphics be my "cockpit"...in fact i left Falcon in frustration after unsuccessfully trying to get it to accept my Saitek X-36 and CH Pro pedals, and wound up flying helos in MFS 2004 for a long time.

then i learned about resolution...got a monitor and sold the TV to my sister...
monitor joined by tunnel to a fresnel lense...

you see that the cockpit is placed within a PVC ring [idea from www.acesim.com].... i planned to have motion using a vacuum system from www.simcraft.com, but never got around to it.....

some shots inside...i originally built it with Falcon in mind, but prepared for other aircraft with the center stick post...

i added a separate command console to run this from...had in mind extra controls from here when i had a "student" in the cockpit [never came about]....

i'm just a humble friend of israel:smile: .....
in fact, the sign hanging from the ceiling behind the sim reads thus:

"this simulator is dedicated to two of the of the best types of pilots in the world --- the naval pilots, because they take it off and put it on a postage stamp everyday, and the israeli pilots, because they simply MUST be."

I appreciate your friendship mate
And you're damn right, our pilots are good since they MUST be... (:guns::nuke:)

I'm reading Raid on the Sun (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0767914252/qid=1137847323/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-5645161-6519964?n=507846&s=books&v=glance) which is about the attack on Iraq's Tammuz-1 reactor at al Tuwaitha. Good doesn't begin to to describe IAF pilots. Those guys rock!!

I like the way your pit was fully enclosed. Must have been a cool way to fly. Pity you had to dismantle it.

NP...saved the desk console... got better plans, and a 1,001 improvements in mind:wink2: ... it's just as well..getting too old to be climbing up and in ...down and out..yeah, and one of those improvements will be an in-cockpit off/on button for the computer! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/OHbluebird/Smilies/dazed011.gif
