View Full Version : Suncom F-15E Raptor
Picked up a Suncom F-15E Raptor yesterday. Price? $5.99 at a second hand store!!!!
Thing is in great cosmetic shape, there is only one problem. It's a got a DB15 gamport plug, and I've only got USB and one 9 pin serial port on my machine.
Has anyone had any luck using a joystick like this with a game port adapter? Anyone using this particluar stick? I can't wait to get it going.

Thanks!
I went out to Radio shack (the source.ca now in Canada) and bought the adapter.
But I'm having major issues right now with the calibration. The thing jumps around randomly and quickly, rendering the joystick un useable. I've tried all settings, and tried reinstalling the adapter drivers, etc.. No luck.
I haven't been able to locate the drivers & the SPI interface you mentioned. Can you point me in the right direction?
Thanks muchly!
Can you make an iso image? I'm in Canada.
That would be awesome!
well it took some time and surfing but i got it working...
after spending a while searching for , finding , downloading and trying the spi and cd drivers:
Index of /drivere
http://www.computerpartner.no/drivere/
i read and worked out they are no good for XP, forget them !
so install a 4 button joystick with hat as previously commonly mentioned...
but that was a no brainer, and the main problem i was getting was calibration ...
it would go spasmodick, and end up lamed with limited range on the pull back...
so i figured a way to calibrate it... (i thought the pots were screwed or dirty..)
when calibrating at the screen when it asks you to move it in circles, just move it to each corner and hold it there for a few seconds, then press button to finish... e.g. top right, bottom right, bottom left, top left, button(finish) - without going in cricels and running along the edge of the calibration box... worked for me now ive got full range, and all but one button working (though im sure that not software related...)
goodluck...
hayden.
Thanks for the info, I'll give it a try!

I could take it, almost instantly, PM me how much you would like for it (USD or EU preferable).

From the looks of the ebay page, it looks like a quick fix

Great, it looks like I finally get a Suncom :lol
There is another solution. Check Frugals out for some mods that have been made to a suncom throttle to make it USB compatible

Think i've already posted this link but it's probably the best Talon USB conversion guide. The thread is still active so feel to post. IMO Leo Bodnar's (http://www.leobodnar.com/products/BU0836A/) usb controllers are the best(no matter if low- or high resolution).
