Gentlemen

Do you fly Falcon 4.0? Do you want more than the sim itself can offer?

The 87th “Stray Dogs” Virtual Fighter Wing is currently recruiting, and in particular, the 876th Squadron Australia, is in need of local skilled (v) pilots to swell its ranks. We have immediate vacancies for the right people.

The 87th Stray Dogs is a worldwide Virtual Fighter Wing made up of many individuals from many diverse backgrounds and includes real life fighter pilots, aviation professionals, sim developers and contributors, and enthusiastic run of the mill desktop pilots like me!

We are an active online squadron, and have been since our inception over six years ago, with squadrons based in America, Europe and Australasia.

To be accepted for recruit status you will need to be familiar with all of the Falcon 4.0 F16 systems - weapons and avionics, and have successfully completed all of the standard Manual training sorties. We don’t expect you to be expert, but the more conversant you are with these systems, the better.

Once accepted you will be required to successfully complete an Initial Qualification Training program, which brings you up to speed with the current 87th Standard Operating Procedures, and gives you Officer status with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. This process is fairly comprehensive, but you will be supported throughout the program with extensive training literature and hands on instruction.

At this point of your virtual career, you are cleared for all formal Operations within the 87th including (v) William Tell, (v) Gunsmoke, Squadron Flight Night Operations and all Wing based Operations. The only way forward is up!

Our current record stands at sixteen human (v) pilots in the air for a large sortie, and depending on when you fly; four or more is the norm. We take our flying seriously, and consequently, we have serious fun!

If you are interested and want to know exactly what’s required, visit our website at http://www.87th.org for more information, or if you reside in Australia, you can also contact me directly roo@87th.org
