or but preferably not, colour CRT like from an oscilloscope?

Astronautics & Kearfott Instruments (http://www.astronautics.com/) makes the real F-16 MFD/s (site is down), if you have $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to spare.

Or you can simply buy a 4:3 monitor and hide the extra real estate behind the bezel. Oscilloscopes are B/W and can display video but it will look like s#!t

nah you can get green oscilloscopes...in fact ive never seen a B/W one...but yea it would look shite

Well I mean they are monochrome (you can call them G/W if you like :bigsmile: ).

If you're not too worried about the size, you can get cheap 14" CRT's on eBay. I mean cheap - mine were $1 each and work great as MFDs.

Another option is a VGA conversion on the PSOne screen attachment.

thanks rup i'll look into it...
One thing i have been considering are the small LCD screens like you said that are on ebay, only prob is that they arent square, but thats not a huge prob as long as you can get it to display on a square section and just place the screen behind the MFD bezel...

I'm sure you could do that if the video driver supported say 600x600 instead of 800x600, you'd get black bars left and right.
