Flash FX Units Replacement,

http://ffur.net/ofp/, is a complete mod for OFP improving : special effects, GUI, ‘realism’, music,
AI, adding new scripts, adding movements (leaning, rolling), new faces, and replacing all the default OFP units
with the best ones from the community.

Several years after its release Operation Flashpoint is still rockin’ thanks to its kicka** community.
And it’s the best FPS/infantry sim I have ever played with FFUR being one of the (if not the) best mod
released for OFP. Every mission/campaign is, each time,a new experience.

(yes i know, FMs and avionics realism in OFP can’t compete with modern sims but what makes it interesting is
the battlefield integration : infantry/armor/planes&helos.)

It’s possible to add grass, new high resolution islands, skies, Lybian conflict,
Astan conflict, Vietnam conflict....

Note : nearly all screenshots, vids and all mods are taken with a new dll (named ‘DxDll’ by Kegety)
file which improves OFP visuals.

I don’t play anymore simulations (F4AF and F4 Old, and Lockon+ addons) because i think the flight sim genre
desesperatly needs some new blood. And while i am waiting for FO i can’t believe i am still playing OFP. :bounce:

FFUR Total conversion Packs

After a long and painful haul, the new FFUR is finally accomplished !

The new and far improved FFUR features a totally new gaming experience, and a new OFP. New GUI, all new units, a clean mission editor, and reduced lag are all new enhancements for this version and much, much more is included. All the addons now fit perfectly into the wanted eras and themes, so you can get a realistic and authentic OFP experience, just as BIS intended it to be...

On top of that, FFUR now has not one but FIVE conversions, allowing you to play OFP and all previous campaigns and missions, in several environments, in effect redefining the whole OFP experience-what was once a lush green field is now a dry barren wasteland or even a cold, winter plain. This can almost triple the replayability of what is already an unique and varied masterpiece.

Hundreds of man hours and huge effort were spent creating this modification, scouring it for bugs, and killing them as well. The beta testers exerted a huge amount of effort in making this possible and it's safe to say that it was indeed worth it. From everyone at the FFUR team, we hope you'll enjoy these modifications as much as we enjoyed making them.

All of the packs have been done specifically for the single player aspect of the game, not for the multiplayer side. However, we expect to release later an extra config pack which will add a few modified configs for each conversion pack to allow players to use FFUR online.

Installation Instructions
The installation is very easy, but if you still have difficulty then here is a guide:

At first make sure you installed correctly the patch 1.96 from BIS then make sure you deleted all previous FFUR versions from your 'Operation Flashpoint' folder.

If you downloaded the pack in archive form (.rar), installation involves extracting the archive to your ‘OperationFlashpoint’ or ‘Operation Flashpoint’ directory and creating a shortcut within that folder to your main OFP launch icon (usually FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE). After that, add the following to the end of the target line in the shortcut (without quotes): “-nosplash -nomap -mod=ffurxxx” where xxx = the pack you downloaded (eg. ffur1985).

For those who download the installer, simply run the executable from the location you saved it and follow the instructions.

When the installer starts, you will be told to select the location for the install. This should be correct without you changing anything, but in a small number of cases this is wrong. Depending on the version you bought of Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis, the game’s main files will be installed in a directory either named “OperationFlashpoint” or “Operation Flashpoint”. If you installed the original game to “OperationFlashpoint” then you will need to change the install path given to reflect this.

Known Bugs
FFUR Desert and Winter packs won't work on 1% of peoples' computers because they will have some missing "intro" messages that we haven't been able to fix.
This error is due to the fact that the island's directories in the CPP aren't recognized by these 1% of peoples' systems, We're sorry, but you'll may enjoy the rest of other FFUR packs without any problem.

-Some small messages appear, although rarely, while playing BIS campaigns. They are due to a conflict between FFUR scripts and BIS scripts but fortunately they don't slow your game down. just Don't be troubled by them - continue playing your missions. as normal.

System Requirements
To play the FFUR Packs flawlessly, we recommend the following:

Windows XP
1.8 GHz Pentium 4 or Athlon XP
512Mb DDR RAM
400Mb Hard Disk Space (per pack)

For those wishing to use the Sky Pack and High Resolution Islands:

Fifth Generation Graphics Card (eg. GeForce 5 Series or Radeon 9 series)
