BF2: Patch 1.03 problems?

Has anyone here downloaded and installed the 1.03 BF2 Patch..? and if so, did it scew your game all up? Seems to be a lot of issues with the re-lease of this patch..everything that could go wrong after installation is happening to lots of people..

I haven't downloaded it because of the nightmareish stories coming out...but has anyone here gotten sucker punched...yet.?

haven't heard of any problems, worked fine for me, jumped 4 ranks!


There are a few people complaining about some of the new rank/hour requirements, I think they've maybe gone a little too far with those, but no real problems.

and it freaked me out.I'm hesitant about insatlling the 1.03...

got it as soon as it came out with no problems at all.

shame they messed with the ranking system though. kind of took a lot of the challenge out of it now.

it worked fine for me also but 1 thing is still pissn me off. I mostly fly the jets and the missles hardley ever hit the other jets even when they dont use there flares. Im so sick of being on a jets ass and all my missle go crazy like theres nothing even there.

Aerial combat with anything but the J-10 is not even worth trying... strafing ground targets at Wake however... :wink2:

i had to find a fix for the patch as every one i downloaded it says patch failed, so i found a thread that had a way of applying the patch without using the installer. That worked ok but everytime i start up BF2 and log on i get a message about 1.03 as if i haven't installed it. Anyone know how to find what version you have?
