OK, what is the bottom line Smack Down on Maverick loadouts for the F-16's depicted in Allied Force?

This may have already been answered and if so just say "Shut Up DUM BASS"!

With lockon we have a similar problem with the A-10, realistic loadouts are a bit tricky since as some pylons aren't used under certain conditions. Whats more we have A-10 pilots and ground crew who also mention that some are wrong and others are ok. Hopefully FO takes this into consideration with its A-10.

Stang, smack yourself in the ass and chant "Who's your daddy?" 7 times, and I might forgive you. :D

What I would like to know is the different blocks of Falcons that are present in Allied Force, what are the realistic loadouts as far as Mavericks are concerned, taking into consideration what you would see in that type of combat environment of stopping the Red Horde. What Mav can be carried, on what hard point, how many on each hardpoint, etc. Keeping in mind this isn't peace time and is a Ever Loving Armor Battle War.......what would those Vipers be carrying, where, and how many.

Thanks in advance.

Best bet would be to list the number carried per hardpoint here. Many of the advisors would not have flown AF.

And we are talkin about flight sim, not about arcade games... :finger:

The lastest SP4 versions (4.2 or something) has pretty realistic loadouts... MONTHS of research went into that, and from memory, the Loadouts for F-16 come from USAF loadout docs... Id try and grab one of the SP or OF guys on Frugals or OpenFalcon...

It seems fairly realistic for the F-16 in most default configurations from what I've seen but when people customise their loadouts and mix Harms with other A/G weapons it raises a few questions. Will FO have a mode for online play that locks the configuration to prevent cheating or force all the players to use a set loadout.(and yeah A-10s with 24 mavericks is very uncool)

I would like to see, for realism sake at the EXPERT or whatever the top level of the scale be, to have locked, set loadouts that are realistic loadouts for the mission. At the lower level, NUGGET/NEWB/whatever, I would like to see the player mix and match.

For a campaign I'd prefer the loadouts to be fixed to full realism loads and likewise realistic missions.

Depends a bit Dusty.
From previous conversations with F-16, F-15 and A-10 pilots, they generally take up whatever they need for that specific mission.
There are some pre-set standard loadouts, but they will not always use those if the mission can be more succesfull with another "mix".

Off course for FO there will be standard loadouts, and also the ability for the player to "save" certain "self-mixed" loadouts under a name chosen by the player for easy refference later.

Best,

Dirk

Pacman, that is more what I was talking about, I just didn't state it worth a damn. But I hope that it locks out certain weapons that can't go on certain hard points and such.

Absolutely, at the very minimum we need to ensure that you can't load something on a hardpoint in the sim if you can't in real life. I do have a preference though for allowing the sim pilot to load a jet up in any way he see's fit regardless of whether that configuration is likely to be used in real life. I feel that if it is possible in real life to load an aircraft in a particular way then you should be able to do so in the sim, regardless of how unlikely it may be that a real aircraft is ever loaded like that. It's up to the end user to choose to maintain the realism of likely or unlikely loadouts if you know what I mean.

If it is possible to load the jet in that configuration who is to say that there would never be a situation in real life that may call for a jet to be loaded like that, and therefore the same applies to the sim.

As far as A-10s go there is very little flexibility on the placement of certain weapons and configurations have to only go on particular pylons. I forgot where I read it but the mavericks can't be placed on all pylons.

Yeah, I guess a good example of what I'm referring to, is the RAAF F/A-18's (and some of the USAF a/c I believe also) in the recent Iraq war flew HAVCAP missions with a mixed AA and AG loadout, something that a few years ago many would think would never happen.

I guess that's what I refer to as something that is possible in real life, however is not normal and fairly unlikely to happen, should be possible in the sim if the person chooses.
