I just got AF and want to do a ramp start...in the takeoff training mission there are those three selections on the left for starting on the runway, taxi or ramp...only thing is i cant seem to be able to choose ramp! Is there another way i can get a mission up without entering campaign yet which will allow me to ramp start?

Don't be shy, just start a campaign. The other way is to make a TE with take off time 1 hour after the time in the window.[you need a minimum of 30 minutes though]. There is also a training mission for ramp starts, while we're on the subject heres a good training program to help you get trained up.

Actually, if you want to do a ramp start, the minimum time before take-off to click to enter the 3D world is 25 minutes in Falcon 4.0 Allied Force (and 20 minutes only in BMS2-patched Falcon 4.0).
If less than 25 minutes is left before take-off, one cannot select "ramp start" after having clicked on "Fly". So you just have to create a TE with a take-off at 09h26 (as a TE starts at 09h00 if you do not change it). While in the 2D world, you have one minute left to click on "Fly" and, then, "ramp start". :wink2:
they fixed this ramp start problem with the first patch. just make sure your game is up to date (start-->battlefield operations-->update check) and you should have no problem...
