Those are some nice 3d models pictures but for me the real eye openers are in the office, theres some revolutionary features not seen before in the Ka50s pit. Not including the clickable fully functioning pit with MFDs and NVGs.

The reason why I made this Thread in the General area was becoz very few ppl come to the Lock On sub forum. The General area is one place where a whole lot of people will see this. Oh well...... :clown:
Yeah I notice that too, its a good topic BTW, about time someone made a new helicopter sim. And its in the same enviroment as everything else.:thumb:

It's a shame that this high level of detail will probably never be implemented onto the old flyable models (especially the Su-27/33)
"Tank Killers" their next sim will bring some of those flyables upto that level.

yea but i believe tank killers would only conist of the A-10, Ka-50, Su-25T...etc. I think its only A-G aircraft.
Not quite its A-10, AH64, SU25, SU25T, KA50 from what I've heard. Theres also been mentioned somewhere that all the current flyables might be also done to that level but I dought it. Maybe "Destroyer" will consist of them instead, F-16 and Mig29SMT.

AH-64 will be flyable?!?I thought that only Ka-50 will be flyable as helicopter.

That's only for Black Shark their next addon. We are not sure what planes are going to be added after that in Tank killers. Probably the Ah-64 but dont know that for sure.

Yes Ah64 has been mentioned as a flyable for tank killers, not sure if its an addon or part of the first release. It is quite a while before they will start on it although I'd say the Ka50 should be one of the first flyables as it would already be ready from BS.
why always the russian crap...i know they are russian developers but please...first improve the other older models...Or how about balancing the whole thing by adding a strike fighter to the NATO fleet like the f-18 or something because it really sucks to only have the 33 or 29 flying around as multirole...

i don't believe ED even intended on having the F-15 or the A-10 on its first release, the only reason its in the game because ubisoft told them to so it might boost sales. Personally i like the russian planes, they also look a lot better too. ED can't add any nato multi role aircraft as of yet, such as the F-16 or the F-18 because the game doesn't support AG radar. So it will be a while before we see those birds in action. But i do agree they should improve on the old flyables first before venturing off into new projects and planes. Especially when the planes they are adding into the game didn't really have a significant role in battles. Only about a dozen or two Ka-50 and the Su-25T were built.
Lockon ends with Black Shark though, Tank Killers is next generation as is Destroyer(F-16) sim. Both will feature A/G radar, MFDs clickable pit etc.

Well it's quite impossible to say since FO is in very early developement and the new Lock On is probably not started yet...But the guys here have a lot of knowledge along with real viper pilots and advisors. But don't put ED aside, they impressed us in the past and could do it again with their new product.
What's for sure is that both products will be very enjoyable :shades:
Destroyer is a few years away I think, it would likely be next generation sim up from Tank Killers so its likely to be quite good. I think by that stage FO would have been already released and upgraded so its likely they'll be quite close. One thing I think that will stand out would be the Mig29SMT which is likely to be the most difficult jet to master since everything is written in cyrilic.

Well... considering a number of FO dev guys are hardened Falcon 4 veterans, I'd say FO would probably be the better, since if you flew falcon 4, you most likely are a realism nut ;).

Yes, me definitely too. But as you can see in the discussions on that subject (in which you are involved, if I remember truely): I'm sure it will not happen. People say it's about a 2 years of development to put an older Aircraft to the new AFM (advanced flight model). So: they cannot afford it.
By the way: is there a business plan of XSI somewhere? At the moment I have problems to believe that it is possible to develop FO with so many lovely detailed parts and that (assumed) accuracy.

No, you need FC if you want SU25T. BS will operate standalone in Russia or as an addon with FC in the West from what I've read.

i think ED's engine is much more suitable for a heli sim, with all the progress in fixing lomac black shark could be promising.

it was also mentioned that all flyables will have 6-DOF support in 1.2 :bounce: (don't quote me on it though, might just be a misunderstanding) :tongue:
i really hope thats true. would be nice to have that level of reallism in the su27 specially the hud.
