Check Ebay for them. I had to get mine on there as they are no longer sold.
They come from time to time.
No proper XP drivers so you may need to set them up manually.

There are often a few on ebay (USA) but none in Australia and i've been looking for one for a good month or so...i have only seen one suncom stick on Aus ebay and it was just an F-15E SFS (earlyest model) with the light instead of the hat switch wich i dont want...Thats why i posted here! As far as XP goes, i have a suncom F-15 SFS throttle which i baught of GIjew, and an FLCS and RCS hoked up and working nicely in XP. I need the Talon stick (or hawk) to build a full size centre stick (F-15E replica) with the grip, you can see some diagrams for my ideas round here somewere.

Seems difficulty arises when trying to find someone with one round here aswell tho!

I have a f-15 Raptor that i'm looking to part with. I also have a Talon (stick and throttle) that I may sell (If I cant get it working).

If the Raptor is any good to you, let me know.

Did you try to install drivers?

Go to "Device Menager" find Suncom and click "Update Driver" (or sth like that, don't know the exact name in English version of Win XP)
EDIT: Drivers- http://drivers.softonic.com/subseccion/8/110/SunCom/1

See if that helps
Good luck :thumb:

It want you to pay for the download sending SMS from your Cell phone... but that won't work for you ;)

Maybe try this one:
http://list.driverguide.com/list/company994/index.html

Note you have to register to download drivers from there. Good luck :thumb:

Buy a PlasmaV2 from BetaInnovations, rip the dodgy board out of the Talon and rewire the buttons and pots to the Plasma. The Plasma works beautifully as a joystick board in XP, and you can even set up HOTAS "modes" like the X45/52.

first off...

@ Sting: If that was for me then yes i am interested, can i PM you regarding it?

thumper, I have my SFS throttle working fine as a "usb adapter" and not a 4 button 4 axis joystic...HOWEVER. It says USB adapter in the device list but then when you click properties it says 4 axis..etc.

Because i only have the one USB adapter, I have my RCS in the same circuit as the SFS which also has the FLCS pluged into that...This stops me using the second throttle control, but its no real prob anyhow.
I dint understand why it wont work for you unless the probs you have are like you said POT related...

As for what rup said, I also plan to get a beta inn... Plasma V2 and USB-alise my SFS/(when i get a talon) so that i can make a proper centre stick...which is under way right now, I'll let you know how that goes with pics hopefully.

:bounce: I've had a number of these units over time and currently own two I have to say when they work they work great however that I found them to be very tempermental units particulary when they start developing problems.

Once they are set up and conected to the PC dont unplug them whilst the PC is or you will damage the circut board board..when starting up the PC make sure you have the keyboard properly secured into the SFS throttle unit and the throttle game port adapter cable conected to the PC game port on the PC secured properly or again you can damage the circut board, its been my experience with the Suncom inc SFS controllers that there isnt a great deal of latitude so be mindful when conecting and disconecting these units from your PC.

To the question about configuring and callebrating the ex-Suncom inc SFS F15 throttle and joystick...in XP...The SFS joystick and throttle uses the standard 4 button Joystick W/POV (Point of View Hat key) and throttle drivers found contained inside the XP game controllers menu.

Buttons on the Suncom F15 sfs throttle emulate keyboard strokes which you configure by using the red left and middle buttons on the SFS throttle and the keyboard assignment. the right switch, for memory, set the continous rapidity of the buttons assignment fuction. If you require further assistance there is detailed information with in the public domain on how to configure the SFS switches correctly if you do a search in goggle.

SFS conectivity problems:- If your having problems with the game port drivers not configured correctly, message, its sounds like a problem with your m/board game controller hardware try upgrading your sound card drivers and reloading them, these drive the M./board hardware game controller.

A quick bypass option is to go and get a Cobra $25.00 sound card or invest $65.00 on a creative sound blaster card which will give you quality sound plus drive your SFS throttle and joystick controller.

Installation of the sound card is simple

1: Make sure you dont have the SFS controllers conected and disconect any power to your PC.

Install the card into an spare convienent PCI slot close the case and turn on your PC

Hold the delete key down during start up and go into the BIOS and disable your On-Board sound card in preference to the new PCI sound card you have just installed.

F10 to exit and your save changes.

Your PC will restart automatically and at the XP main menu window depending on which card your using (creative have their sound card drivers already installed into XP so the new hardware wizzard my not show but it doesn't hurt to put the latest creative drivers in) the found new hardware wizzard will present itself.

Place the disc in your drive and browes the wizzard to the CD and let it find the sound card driver..it generally installs without no problems depending if you have browsed correctly.

1: unplug the SFS F15 or Talon joystick from the SFS throttle and plug in to game port directly then go into the XP game controller menu select ADD joystick and select "4 button joystick W/POV to test conection if you have proper conectivity the window will display an OK run the Joystick through properities menu... and claibrate the unit.

Then turn off your PC and reconnect all the Suncom cables again make sure that keyboard is correctly seated into the SFS throttle and the throttle game port into PC gameport...

I've had my SFS throttle for a few months now I re-wired it with leo's USB adapter:
http://www.lbodnar.dsl.pipex.com/joystick/

Great product, really nice guy.

It works like a charm (despite me screwing up the wiring on a few buttons)

The only gripe I have is the right throttle is a bit ahead of the left, but only when advancing it, so in lomac when coming in for a landing on a carrier and I give more power, the right afterburner kicks in first and wham, I yaw like hell to the left....still it's a blast to use though.
