View Full Version : Why not a LOMAC AREA-51 server?

It could be helpful to test A51 members for fighter ops!

I imagine a virtual battlefield as crimean peninsula or caucasus where A-10 & F-15 pilots work together against the aggressors.
We can communicate with TS, and I would like to see it as a "weekly event" as posted by Buckshot.
The best thing is trying to fly with real pilots that use lomac, so that thay can explain all the real flying procedures.

What do you think of it? :wink2:

Heard of =CAW= ? There is also another Multiplayer Campaign coming up but its secret, we are the ones who will be able to test it...

You can do Lockon at anytime in hyperlobby, use a password etc. I'm not an Area51 member but I'll fly with ya. A/G is my specialty in any flyable.

out of curiosity how many Lock-on flyers do we have here?

(i wont mention the fact that Lock-On doesn't have a dedicated server tool and is far more sensitive to crashing and requires constant rebooting in comparision to your BF2 type games.)

yeah, i played it 1.02 a lot but 1.1 seemed to kill it for me.

i'll see what happenes with 1.11 and see what the reviews for 1.2 with the chopper are like (not jumping into it and buying it on the first day like i did 1.1)

I think that 1.1 is the gold standard today (waiting for 1.11 of course).
Version 1.2 is too far away from us....if we want to play together we must have 1.11. :wink2:

...waiting answers and suggests from XSI team....

FCs brilliant, March isn't too far away, I'm going to get a Trakir especially for it. The whole idea of flying a helicopter in the same sim as jets is quite cool. The new radar tweaks in 1.11 will at least improve survivability.

i seriously doubt it will happen. there are no third party companies renting out Lock-on servers and i am fairly certain we are not going to waste our time having to baby a server daily. then the realities on player numbers. how many players do we have and what time zones do they live? i seriously doubt we would get more than 3 on at any one time. (we got a far bigger reponse to BF2 and i hardly see any Area51 members on it)

my personal opinion is it would be more hassle than it is worth.

what I suggest we could do is orgainse a time for everyone to meet on teamspeak and go and find a public server and rip it up!

Yeah, everyone join my squad's (VVS504) server !! Nice mix of a2a and a2g action on both sides. We are also using a mission rotator program that somewhat acts like a dedicated server--it changes missions out every 2 hours so the action is varied. It will only get better with 1.11 and the mp stability fixes, plus we have some great ideas for new missions.

I like that A/G mission for A-10/Su25T on your server[the one with heaps of ground targets to the north] good value mission.

Yep, the 35th flys both Lockon 1.02 and Flaming Cliffs

Hey Flint,

Definately get Hyperlobby if you are giong to fly online.

If you are looking for a squad you will usually find a 169th member on hyperlobby as they have a dedicated server and should get a good game going and they will help you out if needed.

Otherwise feel free to ask more questions here.
