Yeah, appearantly BSv1.2 features a clickable pit. Someone mentioned there are over 600 functions in the pit.

Clickable for Ka-50 AFAIK and you'll have to buy that addon. I hope they will release the demo...

March 2006 is estimated release month, it'll be interesting flying a Ka50 with AFM. Has MFDs too I think, saw them in the screenshots.

Most western people do, but since they are russian (ED), the tend to favour russian birds, just as FO favours western birds. Same thing really.
Looks like the next 2 years will see some massive advancements in the flight sim community. Fantastic!

Tank Killers might feature an Apache, if its anything like the Ka50 you will most probably require a second player. There would be too much to do otherwise.

I seen a video of the Mil mi 24, with just one pilot - man he must be working overtime flipping switches and pushing buttons. I hear they're literaly surrounded by them in these crammed cockpits!

I rather have some parts either click in groups or what not to be able to pilot the craft solo, then having another player looking over my shoulder - not to mention the ever on going arguements of who's turn it is, who's flying and who actually got the hits. Nah, that's a can of worms I rather keep closed.

Optional is fine by me, having a co pilot active once a second pilot seats up, but other than that - nah, just keep them for solo. Honestly, who wants the boring job of staring at radar and push a button every now and then compared to actual piloting the craft.

I know you can have co pilot sessions on FS9 (with a nice program fshost), but I wouldn't want to pass the time of a 4 hour flight sitting in the right chair. Some might even add a third for the flight engineer. Well, since we're adding people why not add a live crew ...

Ehm, nah let's not go there ;)

In the Apache the gunner is needed to really get the best out of the aircraft. Its possible to have an ai gunner.

A ... gunner ...

*old memories of star wars galaxies and jump to lightspeed suddenly surface. Images of a big target on the screen as stripes indicate all kinds of directions, and the ever dull sounds of lasers blasting. Then wave after wave of enemy fighters come in range, the ship moves in one direction her gun into another - trying to keep up with the overlfying enemies. Then the spinning and turning gets her nauseaus and she feels the urge to ...*

*shivers*

Ehm ... eh I think I'll pass ...

The Ka50 works similar to the Su25T avionics wise, so a pilot can operate the Shivkal and fire vihkrs against tanks without any problems. The extra complexity lies in the MFD and normal helicopter controls. Ramping this bird up might be a bit of a challenge as everything is labeled in cyrilic! The AH64 operates with a gunner but most of the difficult phase is done with auto pilot.eg poping up, hovering and cruise. Apaches now don't even pop up to hit tanks so the gunners job is simply designate targets or priortise the ones that are more important. The pilot still does the shooting with the cannon and rockets, the 30mm chain gun uses a helmet sight to aim(there is a helmet mounted display as well). As well as that the pilot can dogfight against enemy aircraft which still requires manouvering similar to fast jet ACM. Although it can carry Aim9s and stinger missiles most of them don't carry them now as they rely on aircover provided by cap. For tank killers however AAMs are compulsory as AA combat is guaranteed.

Just a question, would I need to buy LOMAC or Flaming Cliffs to be able to play Black Shark? I'm hopng it is sold separately.

It's an addon so for sure you'll need LOMAC but I don't know if you need FC though

I've heard that it is stand alone for the CIS version and an addon for the west. The addon is the better option as with FC you'll be able to fly online with everyone and all the other flyables.

Know anyone how expensive will be that? As FC?

The price of FC has dropped since lockon gold was released. No price has yet been stated but I think it should be more expensive than FC since this aircraft is much more modeled than any other flyable. You could always ask ED at the lockon.ru forums.
