Im really interested in building a pit... actually ive started an ACES seat ( almost finished the parchute container) and was thinking the F-15C - mainly cause i have LOMAC but now am thinking F-15E in anticipation of FO and the ability to fly not just Air to Air but Air to Ground missions etc. The F-16 has the most info and is therefore obviously easier but everyone does the falcon an i want to be differant...but i do like the viper pit. I love the F-14 but that pit is very limited in terms of there are no good sims as yet and unless you do the D model its not as 'fun' flying with the lack of glass in the gockpit (analogue instruments).

So basically i think i'll do an F-15E but my question is this... Does building a pit restict you to flying that particular aircraft. that is if i built a strike eagle pit does that effect me flying a viper if i wanted too. hope you get my drift?

also annyone know where i can get good F-15E pannel layouts and mesurements etc?

yeah it's a great site i also have the F-15 C & E instrument pannels and side consol drawings from f15sim.com but they dont have a scale and i need precise mesurments of the pit etc.

I don't think building a pit a certain way restricts you too much. I mean, if you have a functioning ICP and DED for a viper, maybe it will be of limited use for other aircraft, but flight instruments, MFDs, gear/hook/flap etc are common to most aircraft.
Mine for example is based on a hybrid of the F/A-18 and the Eurocopter Tiger, but I'm sure it will be fine for anything from a cessna to a chinook should the urge take me.
I guess it all depends whether you're after a full-on replica or just something functional.
