What do you guys think of AFs FAC feature?

I attempted that mission twice and got jumped by a four flight of MiG-29's the first time and a four flight of MiG-23's the second. Never even made it to the target area... at least I took a few of them with me. :0)

Me and one of Ghost got it to work, I made a TE with a Bronco as FAC and AWACs plus Jstars. The enemy was quite close to the base so I wouldn't have to wait too long for the FAC to arrive. I checked in with the Awacs and when the FAC reported on station I checked in with him. After that I requested a target and was given a distance and bearing to target. It worked out quite well although I never bothered to try the padlock which gives you the exact location of target. Its also possible to get the FAC to mark the target but I have to put a key assignment for it.

I was talking about flying as the FAC in the Korea campaign. You know... single ship flight looking for enemy targets for aircraft to strike. I need to keep trying, one of these days I'll actually make it to the target area. Think I'll try now...

I don't get it. I'm supposed to call in the bad guy ground targets but I think I'm doing something wrong.... How do I call them in? I want to be a FAC so bad... uhhh... that didn't sound so good... Uh assistance please!

Find the target.......lock it up in radar or I believe you can padlock it........wait for your mudmovers assigned to you to check in..........press the appropriate buttons (can't remember off hand) to pull up the checked in flights and press the number assigned to the flight that checked in............that flight will attack..........perform BDA to see if you need further runs once they are off the target or reassign that flight to another target.

And don't forget to check in with the AWACs when arrive at your target area. Also check the pdf manual it tells you how to do it.

You can always do it online with a human on call cas package over ventrillo, my only annoyance at AF is not being able to carry WP LAU pods. That would add alot, funny thing is you can carry WP LAU on lockon.

Thanks guys, I finally got it to work. Them DPRK troopers are going to hate me now!
