F-16 in Lock On or the following project of ED ?

When I was just in EDs forum I found a thread where they were discussing of the F-16 and which material they need and what they have till now. Does anybody know if they make the F-16 flyable in Lock On 1.2 or will it the next project by ED based on the F-16?

Some rumors are that they're going on Ka-50 and Mi-28.

Nothing confirmed but...........you never know.

Ka-50 is confirmed, there will be also some changes in avionics. But about Mi-28 I heard for first time - ED said some time ago that they will not do anything that have MFDs or/and 2 crewmembers for this game.

they say that they wont simulate an airframe that has more than 1 MFD, not MFDs at all. So the F-16 which has actually got 2 MFDs is sort of out of the question isnt it.

The Lockon series ends with v1.2 Ka50 addon. After that they are possibly doing a fully modeled F-16, clickable pit, MFDs and also possibly addons with 2 seat ability for other aircraft. The Ka50 is due possibly the end of this year after that the lockon successor goes into development which will probably take a couple of years. The F-16 and KA50 will both feature AFM.

With Fighter Ops coming, the F-16 IMO is a step in the wrong direction.
However, they should definatly keep up with the two seater idea. I've tried it in LOMAC already, in its limited form, and it works perfectly. :bigsmile:

No its a step in the right direction, flight sims can do with an extra one available as well as FO. FOs a different type of flight sim in comparison but both will no doubt be worth having. The lockon successor will be the start of a new series of flight sims which will include some Russian aircraft modeled at the same level as the F-16 and also with AFM.

Because one of the developers sayed on the russian forum, that they already have the avionics, but they are now searching for sounds from diverent angles..

The interesting thing is the addons after the F-16 may include Mig29SMT and some of the flyables in lockon but with AFM. I think it takes along time to do the actual AFM(about a year I think for something like an SU27). BTW the F-16s fairly old news they mentioned that a while back.

I just hope Lock On 1.2 would remake some of the old flyable models before venturing off into new ones. Personally I would like to see the F-15 and the Su-27 be remade into the same quality and flight model as the Su-25T. Unfortunately I haven’t heard of any plans from ED that they plan on remaking the Su-27 or the F-15. They also didn’t want to ask from the 3rd party to provide models for some of the old models because they want their own artist to make it (which is a shame because TS-77strikemax made this beautiful model of the Su-27)

They aren't going to do AFM for any other flyables because of UBI, thats why they are doing a new sim after the Ka50.

Personally, I'd hope that the F-15E in FighterOps is the one to really look forward to! And FA-22... F-16 has been done to death, so, there will be nothing REALLY that new there...

And in the Future, FA-18E/F, F-14D, Eurofighter, Gripen, F-35... who knows!

Because they had two publishers one in the west(UBI) and one in the East(CIS) Officially they were supposed to do an addon for lockon as part of the deal with UBI but UBI wasn't interested so the Eastern publisher went ahead with going for the addons. FC is an unofficial addon only published in Russia but thanks to the internet is available still to the West however it won't be on any shop shelves like lockon was. FC is what lockon was supposed to be but the product went outside the deadline in development and so was released early which is where the problems all started.

Ka50 is the last flyable for lockon, the F-16 is a next generation flight sim.
