I have been waiting a long time for this game to come out, I have seen this game in action and all i gotta say is WoW... You can see some in game videos of flight here http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/battlefield2/media.html Demonstration 2 and 3 give you a good example of what the aircraft look like!!

You can see that the 3D models of vehicles, soldiers and others things haven't a great number of poly's, they optimized textures I think and special effects.

And I don't think the Flight Models of the Jets are something to brag about, but we'll see

Well the overal effect looks fantastic in those videos. But it does seem that the "bubble" is quite small - looks like you cannot see anything more than 5-10 miles out, and there was only one enemy jet in the entire scenario so these things must help get high FPS with such nice appearing graphics.

And animations of vehicles looks very good and fluid, they have made a great work at this point.

Yes, the animations of the vehicles and troops seems better than most other FPS that are available now. What I find interesting is that it reminds me of Team fortress where you have things like rocket launchers and cannons that you can use against the enemy. The impression I get is that there will be a limit on vehicles and aircraft but troops will have larger numbers overall. Does anyone know the limitations of multiplayer play on BF2? What I'd prefer is a separate disc for FPS/Ground vehicles, Ships, and aircraft types if FO went this direction many years from now. At least for now some of the units in Airwolves and Seawolves SF may now work together in the same enviroment. Even if its a bit unrealistic.

I think the only real limitations on multiplayer may be the lack of players. I think to make the game really fun you will need a lot of people playing at once. It won't be like counterstrike where you can have a good time with as little as 8 people.

You're right, for this game to simulate a real battlefield you need a LOT of people, BF2 can accept 128 players maximum, this is very good !

85% will be run and gunners, you can't really call that a battlefield with organised tactics, and cooperation.

This is usually my concern when going on a server.

Unless you join a clan wich take it pretty serious

Well the moments you can play decently with ur clan are limited to a couple of hours a week.
Before FO I usually played about 4-5 hours with the clan, and almost 4 times more without them because not everybody would be on.

Now it's close to 1 hour/ week just to kick around getting rid of extra energy, but that is because I found much more fun things to do :evils:

Best,

BF2 also has a command interface where an officer can control his men and send them on missions to attack or defend their territory. This is a pretty cool idea but I'm more interested in seeing how many vehicles you can use at once and I'm hoping that the limits can be controlled by the Server. So you can have tanks only or tanks and helicopters coop or jets only etc. All in all you also have the ability to do a marine landing with troops/vehicles and aircraft. Very cool.

heres a link for an awesome battlefield site

http://www.vietnamcombat.net/

When you register you are assigned to a squad, you practice tactics, and everything is run with tactics, squads within squads, etc. It is run on a private server, and it was the most fun I ever had in a FPS. They are definately going to switch to BF2 when it's released. If you want a FPS experience without a bunch of Rambo's running around, you should really check this out.
