I will not buy anything from a company that simply abandon a product they released. Beside Atari is an arcade company who understands kids games and nothing more.

No offense, but I don't think you have a proper view of the world...especially as it relates to Falcon and Atari.
1. This is not the Atari you're thinking of. Atari basically folded and the current company (The Atari Formerly Known as Infogrames) bought them and assumed the name.
2. They did not release Falcon 4, Hasbro did after acquiring Microprose (and therefore Falcon) and pushed it out the door half finished as half was better than none when the beancounters were beating down the doors. Then Hasbro was bought out by Infogrames.
I'll be buying it, from what I know it looks good. I hope they fixed the multiplayer compatibility and simplified things a bit.
Looks like they've done something about the MP, now I'm definately getting it.

Yeah, the last viper ops exe did have quite a few improvements in multiplayer stability, it still was far from perfect, but if it's the same guys behind this, which looks likely, it will definately be a big improvement over standard falcon MP.

No offence taken and you're right I am not in the "know" so to speak. However, I think I'll still wait for FOps because I think all has been done that can be done with Falcon. We fix one thing and lose another. I have the utmost respect and gratitude for the folks that continued to develop Falcon (for free no less) but I feel that it is time for a new bench mark in flight sims and I believe that FOps will be that sim. The good thing about this Falcon addition (from my limited knowledge) is that it will enable the community to work under a common executable.
None the less, I am optimistic that FOp will be the next "bench mark".

Yeah there is so little information apart from that amazon page. It's not even announced on atari's website

...I guess about as sure as the FO screenshots are representable of the finished product..... always subject to change would be my bet.
I like the new screenshots, very nice especially the Mig29 now has intake doors that close. Very cool.
I see your point, although ours are screenshots the team released themselves.
So they are accurate for the time when they were posted.
Those screenshots are off a site they accidently found in some search and the timeframe from what build those screenshots were made isn't sure. Those might be screenshots from last year (just an example not saying they are).

As someone put it bluntly over on Frug's...
GOOD.
I always found it a bit odd to fly F/A-18s or Mig29s with an AN/APG-68 on 'em anyway.

Im going to buy it because got to be better then the Sp4 and all add on,s that got put out for the sp4 . Im still going to buy the fighter ops sim ,s when it come out. don,t hated me for doing this. I read that Allied Force will not be available until this summer. Maybe Amazon has started advanced sales but it still doesn't ship until summer?
at Graphsim's website the release date is 28th of June. I expect this to be closer than Amazons release date.

I just went to the site and read their article on the OCA Strike changes. I'm pretty impressed with what I'm seeing, in the sense that it definitely seems to be people that have been VERY involved with Falcon4, rather than just a company that bought something and is trying to make a quick buck off of it (like Hasbro).
Even if it only had the best of the various improvements that have been made to Falcon4 by private parties, with added stability of course, I'd certainly pay $30 for it. That would be worth not having to jump through a bunch of hoops to install it, and if it was without the various anomlies that seem to be introduced with each mod, so much the better.
I hope it's all that....
The screenshots and the concept look good ill buy it just because i collect flight sims and because im sick of all the bugs in Lock-on :bigsmile:
I'm having fun convincing the guys I normally fly with to get it.

same here A10FAN. should fill the gap till FO comes out nicely, and as someone else pointed out, it will standardise things for MP which will be great.

I contacted the TrackIR guys.......currently Allied Force supports 2DOF........they are tryin to get 6D0F Vectoring done before release.......... :thumb:

IE has problem with displaying some webpages sometims. I remember some time ago that I couldn't open some pages. I looked up online and it requires some tweaking in registry.
After that I haven't had any problems since.

Its better for them to stick with the F-16 and then release addons later that feature proper avionics and flight model. BTW have you guys checked out the comments on frugals. Theres some excellent features on AF such as the AWACs control and better ATC.

Latest news is it will be released on schedule, also someone mentioned that in July international shipping will be possible.
for you guys, Allied force will have the same keyboard configuration of the old Falcon 4? so, i haven't to change my cougar keyboard profile.
