I am trying to compile some info on flight training in the US, but the whole thing seems a bit confusing..

Could someone inform me what First Officer and Second In Command programs are? What I would really like to know is.. are these just programs at various schools which incorporate the acquisition of various pilot certificates? Or is there something more to it?

Also, are the any accredited aviation degrees, and if so, what do they incorporate (for instance, are they aircraft mechanic or avionics degrees, or is there such a thing as a pilots degree)?

Thank you,

Hey Patrick. there is a such a program for pilots for a degree. That’s what my Major is. Its called Professional Pilot. My major is flying allot of different types and ratings in different A/c. Also i get allot of Ratings to. Mostly I will have of 200 hours of instruction time i will be taught in A/C. My school is Daniel Webster college. www.dwc.edu. Just like Embry Riddle. But Webster is better cause you fly the first day of classes and you fly in weather all types. Not flying in sunny beaches all the time. Check the site out im sure you will like it.
