Hi guys I am Planning on buying a new computer soon as I fried my old AMD 1.2 and havent played F4 in a while. So I was wondering what you guys would suggest. FF3 with latest patches or SP4 with latest patches.

I like FF3 for the simplicity of the dance, but I'm by no means an expert on F4.

Been away from F4 for a while too. I'm going the SP4 route. Looking forward to trying the new flight models in 4.2. Might get to dance this weekend now that I've finally done all the repairs on this damn Cougar! :mad: :bigsmile:

You could try them both and see what you think.

guys at the moment i recommend the SP 4.2 patch just released to the public last week. FF3 is also quite good. I have them both installed and i use a falcon switcher to bounce between them both. Give us a yell if you guys need a switcher and i'll send you in the right direction.

Hey guys, I need some help with FF3. As soon as I press the fly (commit) button my screen turns black, I catch a glimp of the loading screen and it all turns black again followed by a nasty CTD wich requires a restart of the comp.... Advise needed :sad:

Hi Pacman. I installed FF3 on a fresh re-install of Falcon 4. The way it read in the instructions.

quick Specs: AMD Athlon 2000xp
Nvidia Gforce 4 Ti-2400
768 mb ddr ram
Windows XP SP 2
.....

I just put together a new rig as well and I have been out of F4 for about a year and I am about to do the dance to. I think I will stick to the SP route. I'm praying all goes well.

Edit: Over at Frugal's Ratty just released the BMS radar fix for SP4. Now that is cool!!!!!! Definitely going the SP4 route now.
