Modern sims

While we are waiting for FO to come out, what are some of the better modern day (not WW2 or space) flight sims currently on the market at the moment?

Can anyone recommend and/or comment on any of the following? (not Falcon 4 - Already have and it rocks!)

- Jane's F18
- Jane's IAF
- Jetfighter (5?)
- LOMAC
- something else?

I like LOMAC myself but you need a kickass puter to run it as is. But they are bring out a 1.1 standalone pack and a 1.1 patch that looks great lots of new goodies and some Big bug fix have a look http://www.lockon.ru/index.php?lang=en

Yeah Lockon v1.1 is a definate must have with the Advanced flight model and all. Have a look at some of the screenshots and movies, I must say very impressive but I will have to buy some more ram to take full advantage. A couple of other good sims are Janes F15 and Longbow 2. They maybe old but they were great when they came out. Unfortunately I haven't managed to get hold of Janes F/A-18 but maybe one day I'll get it just for a bit of fun.

SubsI have some of them sims Janes ATF, F15, and Longbow 2, F/A-18 Hornet 3.0, Super EF 2000, Apache longbow, Gunship 2000, Microprose F-15 Strike Eagle III, and so on but Loved Longbow 2 the best, but I can't get it to work under XP :sad: I wish Janes made Longbow 3 but no they let us simmers down. But now we have Fighter Ops Yhea :bounce:

Hey Lawman,
Longbow 2 will work in XP. Use WIN 98 compatability mode, then go into sysconfig and set your ram to 128 megs. Enjoy!

Take it easy now. There's a few things to remeber with the series 6 cards. They have adavaced shader 3.0 and vertex shader. They incorporate the this achitecture into the drivers, so to answer the question "maby". Try using no anti-alassing to full, as well as the anostropic filtering. Sometimes, you will have to turn off everything to get it to work, other times, it will work with everything on! Enjoy some more!
