Here's an idea for you guys. Let me know what you think. I thought of having a Haole's Corner "Ebay" Lets call it H-Bay:bigsmile:
I have some items that I can auction off for some friendly fun and all of the money will go towards buying bigger better stuff to auction off and money will go towards the FO project also. Here's my thinking....
Start off with something like this:
I have some 12"X16" prints of a McEntire F-16 with the squadron history at the bottom center. (It is not a real photo but one of the computer designed ones that looks really nice and is very accurate. The designer actually sat down with us to insure the accuracy of everything down to placement of panels, etc. I have several myself in my house. I just wanted to clarify that it wasnt an actual photo:bigsmile: ) Check this link out to see an example of a computer litho http://www.f-16.net/f-16_photos_album75-photoaab.html this is NOT a Mcentire Jet by the way. Just an example to look at!
Anyway...I can have those prints signed by other members of my squadron that flew with me in Iraq and Afghanistan. I will buy the print straight from the squadron so money will be supporting the 157thFS Pilot's Fund, also. The print costs me $20.00 so no bids less than $25.00 (covers shipping) will be excepted. If you bid a very "generous" amount then I can have the designer place your name on the canopy rail of the print.
With money made off of that auction I can purchase nice Polo Styled Shirts, Hats, etc and bid those out.
Let me know what you are thinking. With enough interest we can start on this ASAP:bigsmile:

Cheers!
Haole

Absolutely great idea, Haole! Could you also put some instruments up for auction? Just kidding!!! :wink2:

As for the print: what would you considder as being a high enough bid for a signed print that also has my name on the canopy frame?

I dont know:confused: . What do you guys think would be fair? I have to take the time to drive almost an hour and a half to get them from the guy if they are personalized like that. So it would have to be a price that is relatively "fair" to me for the extra time to go get it, etc. Let me think about that one for a few.

I'll take suggestions on other items you may want to see auctioned (excluding part of the plane! ) Flags (state, country, whatever),etc. I'll just come up with a fee that covers the shipping and handling and then creates a small profit to go towards the project and other objects to auction off.

Hey Haole,

as you have the big distance between your location and that of the artist, I suggest that the best thing would be to wait till you have sold quite a load of these personalized prints to the fellow FO-supporters and then get that done in one run. That way you spread the fixed driving costs and either we do have to pay less or there is more money left over for funding FO development pizza! :wink2:

Your question on what else could be auctioned/sold her:
Too bad about the plane parts! :wink2: Hehe...
Well, what I know is always highly sought after, especially from me lol, are nametags, embroidered visor covers and this kind of stuff. Of course those flags you flew on your combat missions would be of high value to some folks here for sure too! Well, and there might even be some fetishists looking for not new piddlepacks! :clown:

One more, as I was just talking about fetish above! :red:

RUBBER!!!

A friend of mine once bought a used F-16 tire on eBay for 200 USD plus almost 100 USD for shipping it to Germany airmail! Can you believe that??? :bounce:

Well, I do not know what your squadron is doing with the old tires and if there are any regulations or contracts with recycling companies, but if you manage to get one or two, I am sure that there could be someone interested in it. For example you can build a clock into it and hang it on your wall...

I will only have a limited number of signed lithos available. I can get unsigned ones fairly easy and would be happy to do so. The auctioned ones will be the only signed ones. If I went to the squadron with 50 lithos to sign I would get ran out of there! We dont normally sit more than 5 out at a time so that will probably be my limit on signed ones. I guess that for a REALLY generous bid I could have the canopy personalized and have the guys/gal sign it with a personal message to ya. We normally just sign our names around the plane. A Good Luck KodaK, Check Six Kodak, Etc could impress your friends:bigsmile:
I'm just thinking out loud for now.....and no piddle packs! YUCK!
I would have to get a healthy bid to come off with one of my war flags. I doubt anyone would pay the price for even the tiny ones (3"X5")I have. The big 3'X5's.....well those are like gold to me!
Cheers!

You would have been a good salesman as well! Your product descriptions managed to wetten my appetite. Damn

Sorry about the flags! I read in another threat that you told you have a suitcase full or so... I think I took it too literally! :wink2:

I did say that I had bags full, but I have a HUGE family. My mom is the youngest of 14 children if that gives you an idea of how many flags I needed to fly!
Even if I had 1,000 I think I would hold on to them with white knuckles as long as I could. It's a once in a lifetime event to fly a flag in combat over downtown Baghdad.

Thanks for the compliment on my salesmen skills. I try hard:bigsmile:

Haole, I would be interested in bidding for a McEntire F16 print. Hopefully you could post to Sconnie Botland if I was successful.
