Avionics in FO

Hi there gang

I would like to know from the creators of FO how realistic and imersive the avionics will be. In Falcon we use the TACAN channels etc and glide scopes but no inner and outer markers or transponder frequencies. Will FO be like Falcon where it comes to comms or will it use the X plane/FS 2004 type avionics.

Avionics will have X-plane, MSFS reality, especialy talking nav aids etc. not the combat avionics because as you know neither X-plane nor MSFS was programmed for that. :wink2:

I spent 5 years working on the Avionics (Com/Nav & Electrical) on the F/A-18C/D. We also have a few other tweaks running around on the team.

We will get them as best we can.

Bud,

As far as avionics goes our aim is to get everything as real as we can. The problem with alot of avionics gear is that in real life alot of it is classified (radar, IFF, RWR, Comms, etc). Now this does not mean we will not include those components. It means it will not be exactely the same as the real thing. We will probably have to design our own systems or make eduacated guesses from the resources we have availible. They will do the same job. Comms and IFF hopefully will be improved dramatically, we have some great ideas in motion for those. If you or anyone else has any other suggestions or requests please send them through. :thumb:

But.... then why is there a marcer beacon light at the center console (right of the HSI)??

I think realistic TACAN will be very important - air-air refuelling, carriers etc all use it and no military flightsim is complete without it.
